Awesome TV is a Malaysian free-to-air TV channel owned by Awesome Media Network Sdn Bhd. The channel features local original productions and foreign content in first broadcast. Awesome TV started its test broadcast on July 28, 2020 and full service started on August 1, 2020. Awesome TV can be viewed nationwide for free via the myFreeview platform on channel 112 and Astro on channel 123.
In August 2017, AC Mizal and Afdlin Shauki announced that they would be launching a new television channel, originally known as Syiok TV, a joint venture between Syiok Media Network owned by AC Mizal and VisionWorks owned by Afdlin Shauki. Syiok TV was rebranded to Awesome TV in August 2019. AC Mizal announced in February 2020 that he is no longer part of Awesome TV.
Awesome TV does not have major news airtime from August 3, 2020 to January 31, 2022 on either itself or any other broadcast television network.
As of February 1, 2022, Awesome TV broadcasts its own news, Berita 7:57, the same as Awani 7:45 on Astro Awani and Buletin Utama on TV3. The prime time newscast was broadcast live from 33, Jalan Rakyat, Brickfields, 50470 Kuala Lumpur.
Awesome TV is the first free TV channel in Malaysia and Kuala Lumpur to officially start broadcasting without the use of analogue channels, so all Malaysian DVB-T2 decoder users can watch this channel since the beginning of the channel's existence.
As of April 1, 2020, Astro Ria HD's channel number has been replaced with channel 104 and Awesome TV will begin airing on Astro channel 123 from January 18, 2021.
