NTV is a Kenyan general entertainment channel. The channel began operating on April 4, 2005 and is a renewal of the previous TV station Nation under the arm of the Nation Media Group that has existed since 1999.
It is a popular television station in Kenya along with the Kenya Television Network, Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, among other Kenyan broadcast channels.
In September 2007, NTV went online with its content on YouTube. During the first month, it received more than 325,000 views, three awards, and an average of 4,000 views for each video uploaded. In mid-2012, NTV launched on YouTube.
After this move, the blogosphere was filled with praise and NTV (BMJ) US correspondent Ben Mutua Jonathan Muriithi called it a technological revolution for media among Kenyans around the world.
