The channel was launched on May 13, 2011. Reporter TV's CEO is a popular journalist from Kerala, India, M.V. Nikesh Kumar. At the time of launch, Reporter TV was the first HD news channel from South India. Reporter TV's international office is located in Dubai Media City.
The Facebook reporter page has reached two million subscribers. The reporter channel became the third Malayalam channel out of 32, reaching a threshold of 2 million followers after Asianet, Manorama News. He now has 2 million Facebook subscribers and over 1 million YouTube subscribers.
