19 Recordings is staging two high-profile showcases in Nashville at the end of July, spotlighting several recent American Idol contestants. The label takeover events bring together alumni from multiple seasons to perform and preview new music, offering a concentrated look at the artists 19R and its partners are developing.
UPDATE: Additional showcase at the Hutton Hotel — July 29
A second showcase is set for July 29 at the Hutton Hotel in Nashville. This lineup overlaps with the Whiskey Jam event on July 28 but includes a few additions and one omission. Season 20 runner-up HunterGirl is not listed for the Hutton Hotel date, while season 20 winner Noah Thompson and season 19 winner Chayce Beckham will both appear. Season 18 singer Dillon James is also on the Hutton Hotel bill; though he signed with 19/UMG Nashville in 2020, he has yet to release a full record through that partnership and has been sharing numerous demo clips on social media.

Label activity and likely signings
Although 19 Recordings has not publicly confirmed signings from American Idol season 20, the showcase appearances suggest which contestants the label is actively promoting. Historically, 19R signs the winner and often a handful of other standout contestants, frequently working in partnership with affiliated labels and distribution partners. Industry observers expect Noah Thompson to be part of a 19R partnership, possibly connected to BBR or another country-focused imprint that has handled previous Idol winners.
HunterGirl and Noah were introduced at CMA Fest in Nashville in June, where both artists performed and generated significant fan interest. HunterGirl has been teasing new material, including a demo titled “Hometown Out of Me,” and her presence on the Whiskey Jam lineup strengthens the impression that she is moving toward an official recording relationship.
Artists on the roster who are already releasing music
Several of the featured artists have already begun releasing music independently or through 19-related channels. Fritz Hager, a Top 5 finalist, released an independent EP earlier in the year and has shared a number of original songs and demos on social media. Season 18 alum Francisco Martin co-wrote Fritz’s original “Hearts Align” and has been collaborating with him in the studio; Francisco has released multiple singles and an EP under the 19-related umbrella and is planning a sophomore EP titled Manic with a late-August release date.
Casey Bishop, a Top 4 rocker from season 19, has released a debut single titled “Bad Dream” through the 19R/BMG partnership and is reportedly working on a full debut EP. Grace Leer, signed after season 18, continues to release new music, and Laci Kaye Booth — who previously signed in a joint deal with Big Machine — has issued her self-titled debut set and remains active in the country space.
Allegra Miles and other surprises
One of the more notable surprises on the bill is Allegra Miles, a songwriter and performer who was eliminated prior to the Top 11 on season 20. Her inclusion on this showcase is an early indicator that 19R may be expanding its roster beyond the Top 10 finalists, investing in artists with strong songwriting chops and immediate performing experience.
The combined lineup amounts to one of the largest gatherings of American Idol alumni performing together in Nashville outside of the official American Idol tour. The showcases provide a platform for each artist to preview studio work, test new material with live audiences, and connect with Nashville industry professionals and fans.
Noah Thompson is scheduled to release a studio recording of his widely discussed American Idol cover — a country-styled rendition of Rihanna’s “Stay” — on July 29, timed to coincide with the Hutton Hotel event.
