After winning Dancing with the Stars in 2022, Mark announced he would be leaving the show
Following his win on Dancing with the Stars alongside Charli D’Amelio, Mark publicly announced his decision to step away from the show. The three-time Mirrorball champion spoke to fans during the Dancing with the Stars tour in Las Vegas, reflecting on a long career that began in his early twenties and thanking audiences for their support.
Addressing the crowd, Mark said he had completed 20 seasons and that the tour stop marked the final time he would perform in that capacity on the show’s stage. He described the moment as the close of an important chapter in his life and career.
Although he is stepping back from the television competition, friends and fans have continued to celebrate his achievements and milestones, now including this new milestone of impending parenthood.
Mark Ballas and BC Jean have been a creative and personal partnership for years. They married in 2016 after getting engaged the prior year, and their connection began in 2012 when they met at a singer/songwriter event where both performed. Their shared passion for music led them to form the band Alexander Jean, a collaboration that blends their songwriting and performance talents.
BC Jean is also known for her songwriting work; she is credited as the writer of Beyoncé’s hit “If I Were a Boy,” a notable highlight of her career. Together, the couple has balanced music projects, touring and public appearances, and now they are preparing for the next, deeply personal project: parenthood.
As Mark and BC Jean look ahead to welcoming their first child, the outpouring of congratulations from family, fellow performers and fans reflects both their popularity and the close-knit nature of the dance and music communities they belong to. The announcement marks the beginning of a new chapter for the couple, one that friends and followers say they are eager to celebrate and support.
