AGT 2023 Qualifiers 2: Which two acts will advance to the finale? Vote for your favorite acts
America’s Got Talent 2023 live shows resumed on Monday, August 29, with the second Qualifiers episode. Eleven acts took the stage and performed for viewer votes. From this group, only two acts will move on to the season finale. Those results will be announced during the live results show airing Wednesday, August 30.
The Qualifiers phase of AGT season 18 spans five weeks and features a total of 55 acts. Ten of those acts will secure spots in the finale based on the overnight viewer vote after each qualifiers episode. An additional wild card finalist will be selected later through an Instant Vote process. The season finale is scheduled to air across two nights on NBC: Tuesday, September 26 and Wednesday, September 27.
This week’s episode included two Golden Buzzer acts and a mix of variety, from high-energy ensemble performances to delicate, technical showcases. Judge Simon Cowell appeared less harsh than in previous weeks, offering more measured feedback to several performers. Howie Mandel’s act, Murmuration, closed the show and delivered one of the evening’s most memorable moments. Other standout performances included Chioma & the Atlanta Drum Academy and the hand-balancing trio Three G, the latter redeeming themselves after a mistake during their audition.
Sharp Family Singers, who entered the competition with an established social media following, also took the stage. Their performance prompted divided opinions among the judges: while popularity can help attract votes, some judges criticized their arrangement for leaning too far into mainstream pop and losing the original edge of the rock classic they covered.
Magician Shin Lim, himself an AGT winner from a previous season, is scheduled to appear on the Wednesday results show. His performance will accompany host Terry Crews’ announcement of which two acts from Monday’s episode will advance. Magician Ryland, who has publicly admired Shin Lim, is expected to be pleased by that appearance. Another heartwarming moment from the episode involved young fan Alfie Andrews, who nearly met one of his musical idols when producers sought to bring Harry Styles to the show; the meeting ultimately did not take place.
