Heidi Klum Harnesses a Crew of Cirque du Soleil Dancers to Transform into a Colorful Peacock for Halloween

Every year, fans eagerly anticipate what extravagant creation Heidi Klum will unveil at her annual Halloween party. Known for theatrical, highly detailed looks, Klum outdid expectations this year by becoming a living peacock. Collaborating with a troupe of Cirque du Soleil dancers to form the costume’s dramatic feather display, Klum presented a towering, colorful ensemble that dominated the Marquee New York red carpet.

The event itself drew a star-studded crowd. Attendees and photographed revelers included Becky G, Camila Cabello, H.E.R., Taylor Lautner, Rachel Zegler, Ice-T and Coco, and Jack Brinkley Cook, among others. The energy on the carpet reflected the theatrical spirit of Klum’s look: bold, playful, and meticulously executed.

For this transformation, Klum wore a cobalt-blue bodysuit topped with an elaborate headpiece. The voluminous feather effect was achieved by stacking performers behind and around her, creating the visual of a single majestic bird with a full, fan-like plume. The finished result read as a living, moving peacock — a nod to theatrical costume design and performance art combined.

Heidi Wanted to Create a Costume with “a Bunch of People”

Klum explained she envisioned a costume made up of many people becoming one cohesive figure. She said she traveled to Montreal to work out how to stack the performers and ensure each person’s placement contributed to the overall color pattern. Small details, she noted, mattered: the way feet and legs lined up helped the hues blend seamlessly so the group read convincingly as a single peacock.

Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, complemented the theme by dressing as a giant peacock egg — a humorous and clever companion piece to Klum’s bird. Kaulitz described the choice as practical and playful, saying they landed on the egg idea because it fit the concept and the scale they wanted to achieve.

Preparing the costume required careful planning. Klum, who has become synonymous with elaborate Halloween productions, said she wanted to try something different from her previous prosthetic-heavy creations. After years of full-body transformations, she aimed for a concept that relied on choreography and many bodies working in unison rather than extensive prosthetics.

Videos and photos from the evening showed the peacock effect coming alive as the group moved across the carpet. The collaborative nature of the design — dancers, wardrobe, and Klum herself — emphasized performance as much as fashion, turning the arrival into a staged moment that echoed the scale and drama of live theater.

Klum has hosted this iconic Halloween party since 2000, and over the years she has delivered a wide range of unforgettable looks. Past transformations have included Lady Godiva, an elderly woman, a butterfly, Jessica Rabbit, and Fiona from Shrek. Each year her creative risks and commitment to theatrical detail keep fans and the media talking.

This year’s peacock concept underscored Klum’s continued appetite for inventive, high-concept costumes that blend fashion, performance, and collaboration. By enlisting trained acrobats and dancers to physically construct the plumage on the spot, she turned a red-carpet entrance into a live spectacle — a reminder that her Halloween presentations are as much about showmanship as they are about costume design.

The Marquee New York party once again proved to be a showcase for celebrity creativity and theatrical presentation. Heidi Klum’s peacock, built from coordinated performers and bold costume elements, was one of the season’s most talked-about looks, reinforcing her reputation as the queen of Halloween reinvention.
