The Voice Season 24 Playoffs Begin Tuesday, Nov. 21 — Plus Details on the Super-Save Twist
The Voice Season 24 continues to build momentum as the competition moves from the Knockouts into the Playoffs. After the Knockouts wrapped on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and the coaches revealed their teams, the series pauses for a one-hour clip show on Monday, Nov. 20, titled “The Road to The Playoffs.” That episode will showcase highlights from the Blind Auditions through the Knockout Rounds, including unseen coach moments and memorable performances from the season so far.
Fans should note the Playoffs themselves do not begin on the Monday clip-show night. Instead, the Playoffs officially start the following evening, Tuesday, Nov. 21, with an hour-long episode airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The Playoffs are being presented in three parts across consecutive nights, with each coach’s team performing on separate episodes.
The Voice Season 24 Playoffs Will Air in Three Parts
The Playoffs are organized so each coach’s team takes its own spotlight. Team Niall Horan performs in the first Playoffs episode (Tuesday, Nov. 21). Team Gwen Stefani and Team Reba McEntire are scheduled to perform together in the second Playoffs episode on Monday, Nov. 27. The final Playoffs episode will feature Team John Legend and will air the following Tuesday evening. Each episode runs about an hour and will determine which artists move closer to the live rounds.
Across the three episodes, the Playoffs will narrow the field toward the Live Shows. According to official announcements, the format for this stage results in each coach entering the Playoffs with six artists, creating a Top 24 across all teams. From that group, only twelve singers will advance to the Live Shows, which begin on Monday, Dec. 4.
The Super-Save Twist: One Eliminated Knockouts Artist Returns Per Coach
A major change for Season 24 is the new “Super-Save” twist. Each coach receives one Super-Save, allowing them to bring back an artist who had been eliminated during the Knockouts — and that artist may come from any team. The Super-Save increases each team’s Playoffs roster to six members and gives rejected contestants a second chance to prove themselves.
During the Playoffs round the show will reveal the four artists who earned that second chance via the Super-Save. Those surprising returns can significantly shake up the competition and alter the path to the live shows. Viewers can expect dramatic coach decisions, emotional reunions, and fresh performances from artists who previously left the competition.
How the Playoffs Affect the Live Shows
With the Playoffs producing a Top 24, the next cut to a Top 12 will happen before the live broadcast phase. Coaches will have critical choices to make, and the Super-Save adds another strategic layer to selections. The Live Shows begin Monday, Dec. 4, when the remaining artists perform live and face public voting to determine who advances toward the finale.
Throughout the Playoffs and into the Live Shows, expect a mix of song choices that highlight each artist’s vocal strengths, creative arrangements, and coaching input. The Super-Save twist means fan favorites who were previously eliminated may reappear, so viewers should pay attention to announced lineups and episode results.
