American Idol’s Lauren Alaina Marries Cam Arnold in Nashville Ceremony
Country star Lauren Alaina married longtime partner Cam Arnold on Sunday, February 4, at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in downtown Nashville. The celebrated venue, known for its grandeur and musical history, set the tone for an elegant, music-centered celebration attended by roughly 450 guests.
Among those present were friends and fellow artists, including Jason and Brittany Aldean, HARDY with his wife Caleigh Ryan, Lindsay Ell, and Shay Mooney of Dan + Shay. Close family members and a wide circle of friends filled the orchestra-level space for a ceremony that blended heartfelt moments with musical tribute.
Alaina, the season 10 runner-up on American Idol and a former Dancing with the Stars contestant, spoke about choosing the Symphony Center for its sweeping architecture and musical atmosphere. She told the media that the venue’s iconic presence made it feel like the perfect place to marry. The couple planned the celebration under a tight timeline—reportedly shifting wedding planners near the end and organizing the event in just one month.
The ceremony was intimate and personal. Both Lauren and Cam wrote their own vows, and they included their two dogs, nieces, and nephews in the proceedings. The couple asked Henry Valentine Geny, a close friend of Cam’s, to officiate. Family played a central role: siblings stood with the couple during the vows, and Cam’s father served as his best man, adding an especially moving family moment to the service.
Music threaded through the ceremony. Cam entered to a cello and violin rendition of “Neon Moon” performed by the couple’s friends Ben and Lauren Johnson. The bridal party processed to an instrumental version of Lauren’s song “Just Wanna Know That You Love Me,” and Alaina herself walked down the aisle to an instrumental arrangement of a song she wrote for Cam called “Breaking Up with Single.” For their first dance as a married couple, the newlyweds chose “Feet Off the Ground” by Brent Cobb featuring Jade Bird—a track the pair say has become “their song.”
Lauren’s wedding attire was designed by Anne Barge, with a custom gown created by the brand’s creative director, Shawne Jacobs. The ensemble combined a V-notched strapless bodice and a modified trumpet skirt in hand-beaded, floral-embossed jacquard, paired with a pleated detachable overskirt and an Alençon lace long-sleeved mock-neck topper. Her look was finished with a dramatic chapel-length veil detailed in hand-beaded Alençon lace.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a send-off brunch before departing on a honeymoon to Hawaii. The couple first began dating in 2020 after meeting at Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa festival in Mexico. Their relationship went public after their engagement, which they announced on the Grand Ole Opry stage on November 19, 2022—the very night after they became engaged.
The Couple Announced Their Engagement on the Grand Ole Opry Stage
The Opry announcement was an emotional milestone for Lauren, who had earlier in the year been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. She told the Opry audience that being welcomed into the Opry family was a lifelong dream, and the following night she invited Cam on stage to introduce him as her fiancé. In that spontaneous moment she celebrated both her musical achievements and her growing family, exclaiming to the crowd to make some noise for her future husband.
Throughout their relationship, music has remained central to their story—from meeting at a music festival to choosing a symphony hall for their wedding and selecting meaningful songs for their ceremony and first dance. Friends and family contributed performances that highlighted the couple’s personal connections and shared love of music.
The wedding reflected thoughtful personalization: vows written from the heart, a ceremony officiated by a close friend, family members participating in the service, and nods to songs that have meaning for the pair. Despite the condensed planning timeline and last-minute changes, the celebration was described as emotional, intimate, and heartfelt by those who attended.
Lauren and Cam’s union marks the next chapter in a relationship that began in 2020 and grew into a public engagement in 2022. Their Nashville wedding combined classic venue elegance, family involvement, and a soundtrack uniquely their own—leaving the newlyweds and their guests with lasting memories as they embark on married life together.
