2024 People’s Choice Awards: Kelly Clarkson Show and The Voice take top honors
People’s Choice Awards aired live on NBC from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Hosted by Simu Liu, the ceremony celebrated fan favorites across music, television and pop culture. Special honorees included Lenny Kravitz, who received the Music Icon Award, and Adam Sandler, who was presented with the People’s Icon Award. Performances during the telecast included Kylie Minogue, Lainey Wilson and Lenny Kravitz.
Among the night’s notable winners were The Voice, which won Competition Show of the Year; The Kelly Clarkson Show, which took Daytime Talk Show of the Year; and Ariana Madix, who was named Competition Contestant of the Year for her run on Dancing with the Stars. These awards are decided by public vote, with fans casting ballots late last year to determine the winners.
Not every winner collected their trophy in person. Kelly Clarkson, now based in New York City, did not attend to accept her award in person, and representatives from The Voice were also not on the red carpet despite the show’s win. With The Voice preparing to launch its next season, the absence of a cast member or representative was notable to some fans.
On the red carpet and in attendance were several recognizable faces: Xochitl Gomez, the Dancing with the Stars champion; AGT judge Heidi Klum; and AGT: Fantasy League contestant Drake Milligan. Lainey Wilson, who performed during the show, won Female Country Artist of the Year—an outcome that marks a shift from past winners in that category.
