Survivor Season 46 Week 12 Recap and Live Blog – Heading to the finale

Tonight’s new episode of Survivor Season 46 delivered a tense mix of emotion, strategy and a dramatic blindside as the remaining players edge toward the finale. Read the live recap below for a full play-by-play of the episode’s key moments.

The episode opens with the tribe returning to camp after tribal council. Q is relieved that Venus is gone, while Ben admits to the group that he mistakenly voted for Kenzie at the last vote. He attributes it to sleep deprivation and a blank moment; Kenzie is annoyed but reluctant to keep dwelling on it. Maria, however, is visibly hurt. She says Venus attacked her character at tribal council, a blow that upset her deeply. In a confessional, Maria stresses that she has been on the “right” side of the votes and considers herself a formidable player. Later that night, Ben struggles again with panic attacks; Kenzie offers quiet support and helps him through one of the episodes.

The next morning, Kenzie, Ben and Charlie gather to talk strategy and appear to agree that Q and Maria are the next targets. Charlie’s confessional reveals his dilemma: he can stick with his closest ally Maria and protect her, or align with Kenzie, Ben and Liz to vote Maria out. He’s undecided and weighing his options.

Reward challenge

The reward challenge tests speed and steadiness. Players race through obstacles to collect a bag containing a ball, then navigate that ball through a tabletop maze. The prize is Chinese food and letters from home at the sanctuary—an emotional reward that matters to several players.

Maria gets an early lead with Q close behind, but the race tightens as all contestants work on the maze and repeatedly drop their balls through holes. In the end, Charlie is the first to sink his ball in the center and wins the reward. He chooses Liz to join him for the meal and then selects Kenzie as his second guest. Maria, who hoped to read letters from her children, is visibly upset but tries to be understanding of Charlie’s choices.

At the sanctuary, Charlie, Liz and Kenzie share food and read their letters, an emotional moment that also turns strategic. They discuss the growing threat Maria represents and the importance of ensuring she doesn’t win immunity in the next challenge. Back at camp, Maria mourns the missed opportunity but channels her disappointment into determination.

Still searching for a hidden immunity idol

Back at camp, Q and Maria conduct a search for a hidden immunity idol. Q locates the idol and reveals it to Maria; in confessional he explains that building trust with someone is essential and that Maria is his primary ally. He even suggests he would be willing to play the idol on Maria if needed. The two speak openly about game dynamics and flag Charlie as a potential threat to win the season. Despite their private plan to target Charlie if he doesn’t win, the wider game begins to shift as other players assemble different plans.

When Charlie, Liz and Kenzie return, Charlie and Maria reconnect and pretend everything is fine. Maria does not disclose Q’s idol find to Charlie. Privately, each of them admits to the camera that while they expect to remain friends outside the game, their priority is advancing their own games—meaning targeting each other remains on the table.

Immunity challenge

The immunity challenge requires balance across floating platforms followed by a dolphin-shaped puzzle. Maria seizes an early lead and reaches the puzzle first, but the race remains close as Ben and others move forward. Ben briefly takes control of the puzzle, only to be overtaken by Maria, who steadily assembles the pieces and ultimately completes the dolphin puzzle. Maria claims immunity, securing her spot for tonight’s vote.

With Maria safe, the group recalibrates. Ben, Charlie, Kenzie and Liz coalesce around voting out Q. Meanwhile, Q and Maria privately plot to target Charlie, and they bring Kenzie and Liz into the conversation. Liz and Kenzie play along, outwardly agreeing to vote Charlie out while secretly planning to blindside Q instead—leaving Maria in the dark. Charlie, for his part, briefly courts Maria to get her on board to vote Q, wanting to avoid burning his bridge with her. Maria suspects she may be on the chopping block but is unaware that Q is the real target.

Tribal Council

At tribal council, Jeff opens by addressing Charlie’s reward choices. Kenzie frames the group as a family but contrasts that with loved ones at home; she’s grateful for the letters she heard. Maria explains how missing those letters motivated her to fight harder in the immunity challenge. Conversation turns to alliances and shifting loyalties—Ben reiterates that his previous vote for Kenzie was accidental, Q emphasizes group consensus, and Liz describes the game as defined by power duos rather than traditional alliances.

As voting begins, Maria and Q cast their votes for Charlie, while everyone else votes for Q. The suspense builds when Jeff asks if Q will play his hidden immunity idol—he does not. The votes are read.

Blindside!

Jeff reveals the votes one by one. The tally results in Q being the majority target. Q is stunned; Maria is surprised; the others look relieved. Q is the thirteenth person voted out and becomes the sixth member of the jury. The blindside marks another significant turning point as the final players head toward the season’s conclusion.

That closes tonight’s episode of Survivor Season 46. Tune in next week for more strategic twists, emotional moments and the next chapter in the race to the finale.
