The Voice 2024: Full Season 26 Schedule Interrupted by American Elections!
The Voice returns for season 26 on NBC with a premiere on Monday, September 23. This season’s broadcast schedule is adjusted around major 2024 U.S. political events: there will be no Tuesday episode in late September to accommodate the vice-presidential debate, and later in the season NBC will yield a night for election-night coverage and results. Below is the current, season-long schedule with dates and times; as always, the lineup may be updated, so check local listings before each episode.
Season 26 keeps the familiar competitive structure—Blind Auditions, Battles, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Shows—while introducing a notable twist during the Blinds and welcoming two new coaches to the panel.
The Blind Auditions – NEW TWIST! Coach Replay
The coaches this season are a mix of returning stars and fresh faces: Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani return to the red chairs, joined by newcomers Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé. Carson Daly returns as host. During the Blind Auditions, each coach still has one BLOCK to prevent a rival coach from recruiting a contestant, and the Blinds will again conclude with a Top 56—four teams of 14 singers apiece.
A major format change for season 26 is the introduction of a Coach Replay option. Traditionally, coaches must hit their button and turn while the contestant is performing; if they miss that opportunity, the chance is gone. The Coach Replay gives a coach one extra chance to turn after a performance, offering a second window to secure a promising vocalist. This new mechanic is designed to add strategic drama to the Blinds and create more last-minute chair spins.
The Battles – Top 56
After the Blinds, the Battles pair up team members head-to-head for a place in the Knockouts. This season each coach will have two steals available, allowing them to rescue artists who lose their battles. The Battles round trims each team down to nine members, leaving a total of 36 contestants moving forward.
The Knockouts – Top 36 and a Mega-Mentor
With nine artists per team, the show returns to the three-way Knockouts. In each Knockout, three teammates perform solo numbers and the coach selects one winner to advance. Artists not chosen remain eligible to be stolen by another coach, and each coach also has the option to save one contestant. NBC has indicated a celebrity mega-mentor will be joining the coaches to help prepare contestants, though the network has not announced who that mentor will be. The Knockouts conclude with a Top 20—five artists on each team—moving on to the Playoffs.
Playoffs – Top 20 Featuring Celebrity Mentors
During the Playoffs, the Top 20 artists perform for a spot in the live broadcasts. Each coach will be assisted by a guest celebrity mentor as they help shape song choices and performances. From the five artists on each team, coaches will narrow their rosters down to two contestants who will advance to the Live Shows. At this stage there are no more saves or steals; the coaches’ decisions are final.
Live Shows
The Live Shows mark the point where viewers have the final say. Audiences at home vote for their favorite artists, and those with the lowest vote totals may face the Instant Save, performing a new song for one last chance to remain in the competition. The season culminates with the live finale, where a single artist will be crowned “The Voice” and awarded a recording contract as the grand prize.
