Survivor Season 48 Week 11: Recap and Live Updates

Survivor recap: a new episode airs tonight on CBS — read our live recap below.

After tribal council, the tribe returns to camp tense and uncertain. Mary is devastated to see Star go; she reflects on a pattern where people she grows close to keep getting voted out. Though discouraged and feeling like she’s in a low point, Mary takes solace in still being in the game and immediately begins thinking strategy.

Mary pulls Kamilla aside to talk strategy. She pitches herself as a disposable number who can help target Joe or Eva. Kamilla agrees Joe and Eva hold a lot of power and acknowledges the threat they pose. Mary later makes the same pitch to Mitch, who admits Joe has been dominating play and agrees they must consider a move. Mitch hopes to recruit Shauhin and Kyle to flip on Joe before he “runs away with the season.”

Meanwhile, Joe feels secure. He believes his alliance with Eva, Kyle, and Shauhin is solid and that they’ll make Final Four together. In his confessional, Kyle admits he has doubts about whether he could beat Joe in a Final Three and wonders if now is the moment to make a move.

The next morning Mary presents her plan to Kyle, suggesting he use her as a number to vote Joe out. Kyle acknowledges this could be their best chance to blindside Joe, but he’s torn because of personal bonds with both Joe and Eva. Annoyed by the tension and feeling undercut, Mary vents by chopping and eating coconuts, behavior that quickly irritates the other castaways. Kamilla warns that if Mary keeps consuming communal food unilaterally, no one will want to keep her around.

Kyle later confides in Kamilla that he’s seriously considering a move on Joe. In confessionals he explains he’s been playing in the middle, trusted by both sides, but now faces a crossroads: betray Joe and Shauhin’s trust or risk missing his opportunity to control his own fate. He also emphasizes his close bond with Kamilla and his reluctance to betray her.

A boat arrives with a note instructing the tribe that one person must embark on a Journey. If they can’t decide, the choice will be random. They draw rocks to determine who goes; Eva pulls the purple rock and is chosen for the Journey.

On the Journey, Eva must complete a tile-stacking challenge to win a “Knowledge Is Power” advantage. Completing four levels in the time limit preserves her vote; attempting eight levels could earn a stronger advantage but risks losing her vote if she fails. Eva easily completes four levels and, after briefly beginning a fifth, decides not to risk it and returns to camp with the advantage intact, then honestly tells the group what happened.

Mary then approaches Shauhin with her pitch. Shauhin is cautious. He recognizes Joe and Eva as threats but believes his own game is strong and that he can navigate different paths to reach the Final Three. Confident in his relationships, he resists committing to any rash move.

The immunity challenge follows: players must balance vases on wheelbarrows across beams to unlock pieces of an arch puzzle. The goal is to finish the puzzle and spell “unforgettable.” The winner also earns a food reward featuring sushi, teriyaki chicken, noodles, and chocolate cake. Mary takes an early lead but falls behind at the second balance beam where two vases must be balanced. Shauhin reaches the puzzle first, followed by Mitch, then Joe and Kamilla. Ultimately the finish is razor-close between Joe and Kamilla; Joe steps off first but has two tiles misplaced, so Kamilla clinches immunity. She selects Mitch and Eva to join her on the reward.

While enjoying the feast, Kamilla explains in her confessional that she chose Eva to keep Joe comfortable and to mask how close she is to Kyle. She plans to steer Eva and Joe toward voting out Mary tonight, while secretly hoping to orchestrate a blindside against Joe with Mary, Mitch, and Kyle.

Back at camp, Mary senses she’s the target. After the reward trio returns, Kyle shares a personal detail with Kamilla — he reveals he’s actually a lawyer, not a teacher — but Kamilla shrugs it off; it doesn’t change her strategic view. Kyle reassures Kamilla that she’s his top ally and says he’s aligned with her. Both agree Joe should be voted out eventually, but they debate whether the timing is right.

Tensions rise when Mary bluntly tells Joe she plans to write his name at tribal, saying it openly in front of everyone. Joe grows uneasy and suspects Mary might possess an idol, prompting him to consider throwing votes elsewhere. He shares his panic with Kyle and Mitch. Mitch asks for specifics, but Joe remains unsettled until Shauhin calms him and urges him to vote for Mary, suggesting her outburst signals she’s not holding a hidden idol and warning that Joe’s paranoia could make him vulnerable to a flip.

At tribal council Jeff Probst leads the conversation about fear, family and strategy. Kyle mentions thinking of his fiancée; Joe reflects on his kids. Mary speaks emotionally about her immigrant mother and why the prize money would matter. Kamilla and Shauhin both highlight parental sacrifices. The dialogue shifts to gameplay — timing, trust, and making moves. Players discuss whether to play for the team or think individually as the endgame approaches. When the votes are read, the results are decisive.

Jeff reads the votes aloud: the first vote is for Mary…followed by Joe…then Mary, Mary, and Mary. Mary is the twelfth person voted out and becomes the fifth member of the jury. As her torch is snuffed she receives a final moment of support from David.

That concludes tonight’s episode of Survivor. Thanks for reading this live recap — check back next week for another episode recap and more coverage of the season’s strategic shifts.
