American Idol 2025 continues to be broadcast live across the country. On Sunday, May 11 and Monday, May 12, the show celebrates Disney songs for two nights. Song spoilers for the Top 7 rounds are already circulating, and by the end of Sunday’s episode the Top 5 will be revealed. Monday’s show returns to Disneyland with each of the Top 5 performing two songs, and Lin-Manuel Miranda serves as mentor both nights. Season 21 winner Iam Tongi is scheduled to perform “Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride” from Disney’s new Lilo & Stitch movie during Monday’s broadcast. By the end of Monday’s episode the Top 3 who advance to the May 18 finale will be announced.
Below we rank the Top 7 based on the momentum each contestant carries into the Disney-themed shows, taking past performances, judges’ reactions and recent audience engagement into account. How would you rank these seven singers?

First, let’s look at Facebook views from the recent episodes: the Top 10 show where the Top 8 was revealed and the following episode in which the Top 7 was set. These view totals give a useful snapshot of which contestants are drawing the largest online audiences.
Country singer John Foster is clearly leading the pack on Facebook. His clips are drawing roughly double—sometimes more—than the next most-viewed performer, Jamal Roberts. Breanna Nix has climbed back into third-place viewership for both recent episodes after slipping a few weeks earlier. Gabby Samone finished seventh in views on Sunday but rebounded to fourth place on Monday.
A trend to watch: Josh King and Mattie Pruitt both posted lower view totals on Sunday and then found themselves in the bottom two on Monday, with Josh ultimately eliminated. That pattern—lower digital engagement followed by a precarious position in voting—has been noticeable. Thunderstorm Artis and Slater Nalley registered the lowest views on Monday’s episode; either could be headed home on Sunday, though both have shown occasional spikes in engagement.
At this stage a likely Top 5 could include John, Jamal, Breanna, Gabby and Mattie, though Slater or Thunderstorm could displace Mattie depending on their performances and the order in which they appear. John, Jamal and Breanna look like realistic candidates for the Top 3 heading into the finale. Given his consistent popularity and strong view totals, John Foster is the contestant many see as the frontrunner.

Thunderstorm’s Facebook views are often in the middle or lower range. He’s chosen “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas—an understated pick that may not immediately excite viewers, but he has a talent for reinterpreting songs in his own style. The judges adore his artistry, and their enthusiasm could keep him in the competition.
5. Slater Nalley
Slater will sing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King. It’s not the most obvious fit for his style; a country-tinged Randy Newman tune might have showcased him differently. Slater’s week-to-week consistency has been mixed, and his survival may depend on delivering a memorable performance.

While John may be the frontrunner in popularity, Jamal is a complete performer and a legitimate contender to win.

John is the clear favorite at this stage. His popularity and consistent digital engagement give him a strong advantage regardless of song choice. For Top 7 he selected “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog—a number that might not be a vocal showstopper but could highlight his charm and reinforce his frontrunner status.
