City of Hope Announces Stars for 28th Annual Celebrity Softball Game in Nashville
City of Hope has revealed additional celebrity participants for its 28th annual Celebrity Softball Game, set for Saturday, June 9, at First Tennessee Park in Nashville. This high-profile charity event brings together entertainers, athletes and media personalities for a friendly competition that raises funds for City of Hope’s patient care, research and community programs.
New additions to the roster include radio and television personality Bobby Bones, DJ and influencer Brandi Cyrus, country stars Lauren Alaina and Tegan Marie, former NFL wide receiver Marc Mariani, country artist Lucas Hoge, former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler and singer-songwriter Trent Harmon. The game will pit two celebrity teams—iHeart Radio and Grand Ole Opry—against each other for a day of softball, music and family-friendly entertainment.
Office Depot joins this year as a supporting sponsor, marking its first year involved with the softball game. Other returning partners include CMA Fest, the U.S. Army, the Grand Ole Opry and iHeart Radio. These partnerships help amplify the event’s reach and increase fundraising impact for City of Hope.
In addition to participating on the field, Big Machine artist and Season 15 winner of ABC’s American Idol, Trent Harmon, will perform the national anthem. Harmon is also preparing to release his debut album, You Got ‘Em All, scheduled for May 18. His involvement highlights the event’s blend of athletic fun and live musical moments.
Bobby Bones will continue to serve as team captain for iHeart Radio, bringing his experience as a longtime radio host and a familiar presence at charity events. Lauren Alaina, the reigning ACM New Female Vocalist of the Year, returns to the game after several years away, while Brandi Cyrus will make her debut on the field. Warner Music Nashville artist Tegan Marie, one of the youngest female country singers to sign a record deal in recent years, will also take part, illustrating the event’s commitment to showcasing both established and emerging talent.
Previously announced participants include the Scott Brothers, who are expected to add a playful sibling rivalry element, and Naomi Judd, who returns to the event as a play-by-play guest announcer after participating as a player in the early 1990s. Organizers have noted that additional talent will be disclosed in the weeks leading up to the game.
The Celebrity Softball Game is designed as a community-focused fundraiser that combines sportsmanship and entertainment to support City of Hope’s mission. Historically, the event attracts fans of music, television, sports and radio and serves as an opportunity for attendees to engage with performers in a casual, family-oriented setting while supporting medical research and patient services.
Tickets are available through Ticketmaster, and event organizers emphasize that 100 percent of the event’s net profits benefit City of Hope. Attending the game provides both an entertaining day out and a meaningful way to contribute to research, treatment and support programs for patients facing cancer and other serious illnesses.
For anyone planning to attend, the event promises a full day of activities: celebrity softball action, live musical performances, special guest appearances and community engagement opportunities. First Tennessee Park in Nashville will host the festivities, offering fans a comfortable venue to enjoy the game and the surrounding entertainment.
City of Hope’s Celebrity Softball Game continues to be one of Nashville’s signature philanthropic events, bringing together the entertainment community and local supporters for a common cause. With a strong lineup of celebrities, new sponsors and returning partners, this year’s game aims to raise meaningful funds and awareness for City of Hope’s life-changing work.
