Dancing with the Stars 2024 Halloween Night. See all the Dance Styles and Song Choices

The remaining seven Dancing with the Stars couples embrace all things eerie and theatrical as “Halloween Nightmares” premieres TUESDAY, OCT. 29 (8:00–10:01 p.m. EDT/PDT, 7:00–9:01 p.m. CDT). The episode simulcasts live across ABC and Disney+ in local time zones, with the episode also available the next day on Hulu. For fans of dramatic storytelling through dance, the evening promises thematic transformations, inventive choreography and spine-tingling performances that blend classic ballroom technique with Halloween flair.

The show opens with an ensemble number set to “Murder on the Dancefloor” by Sophie Ellis-Bextor, choreographed by Emma Slater and Gleb Savchenko. The professional dancers and troupe follow with a witch-inspired routine set to “The Ballad Of The Witches’ Road (Sacred Chant Version)” from “Agatha All Along,” staged by Britt Stewart and Ezra Sosa. In addition, a Derek Hough Masterclass segment will offer practical wardrobe and performance tips for competitors, followed by a lively group routine to “Aserejé” by Jean Massey, choreographed by Daniella Karagach and Pasha Pashkov. These production numbers set the tone for an evening that connects storytelling, costume and movement.

A key competitive element for the night is the return of the Dance-Offs: pairs of couples perform head-to-head on the ballroom floor, dancing the same style at the same time. Judges select a winner from each Dance-Off, and the victorious couples receive bonus points added to their judges’ totals. Based on last week’s leaderboard and cumulative scores this season, Chandler Kinney and Brandon Armstrong earned immunity and will not participate in the Dance-Offs; they will still receive bonus points as part of that immunity.

Dancing with the Stars Halloween Dance Offs

Dwight and Daniella vs. Ilona and Alan
Cha Cha — “Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr.

Danny and Witney vs. Joey and Jenna
Jive — “Time Warp” by Little Nell, Patricia Quinn & Richard O’Brien

Jenn and Sasha vs. Stephen and Rylee
Salsa — “Jump In the Line” by Harry Belafonte

Each Dance-Off pairs couples in direct competition: the simultaneous performance highlights speed, precision and showmanship while giving judges an immediate side-by-side comparison. Judges award the Dance-Off winners with bonus points that can shift the evening’s rankings, increase safety from elimination, and reward standout choreography and execution under pressure.

Dancing with the Stars 2024 Halloween Night dance styles and song choices

  • Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson — Argentine Tango to “Ramalama (Bang Bang)” by Róisín Murphy, inspired by his nightmare: ventriloquist dolls. Their routine will likely combine intimacy and eerie doll-like precision through lifts, head movements and controlled footwork.
  • Dwight Howard and pro Daniella Karagach — Contemporary to “Ring Around The Rosie” by District 78 featuring Natalia Lillee, where Dwight becomes the boogeyman. Contemporary choreography will emphasize storytelling, dynamic partnering and a physical interpretation of fear.
