American Idol alum Haven Madison delivers big news: She’s writing a record after signing a record and publishing deal

Rising teen singer-songwriter Haven Madison has shared exciting news with fans: she is actively writing a record. The announcement came after reports that she signed a record and publishing deal with 19/BMG, a collaboration that positions her to move from competition standout to recording artist. In a social post accompanying a video announcement, Haven wrote, “I am so excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to take you guys on this journey with me!”

The news follows a busy few weeks for the singer. Haven posted a series of images and clips in the days surrounding the CMA Awards in Nashville (which were held on November 9), signaling a new phase in her career. Ahead of the ceremony, on November 7, she performed at a pre-CMA Awards event at the Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville alongside fellow American Idol alums — season 19 winner Chayce Beckham and season 20 runner-up HunterGirl.

“SIGNED sealed and delivered!” Haven announced

On November 7, Haven shared a short post that read simply, “SIGNED, sealed, delivered,” tagging BBR Music Group, BMG and 19 Recordings. BBR Music operates under the BMG umbrella and is known for signing country artists; its roster has included artists who emerged from the Idol platform. 19 Recordings is the label arm associated with American Idol. The tags and social activity signaled industry support as Haven moves into the next stage: recording and songwriting.

In a follow-up post on November 26, Haven thanked her label and supporters and teased what’s next: “Huge thank you to my incredible label and everyone who has believed in me along the way. I’ll be sharing sneak peeks of what I’m writing in the coming weeks.” Those brief updates suggest she’s moving quickly from signing to creative work, and fans can expect previews of her original music soon.

Haven performed an original song for her American Idol audition

Haven first captured national attention on season 21 of American Idol, where she finished in seventh place. For her audition she performed an original song titled “Fifteen,” a moving, mature piece about coming of age and impatience that she introduced with her father, Jason Roy, on guitar. Roy is the lead singer of the Grammy-nominated Christian contemporary group Building 429, and his presence underscored Haven’s musical upbringing.

Judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan all voted to advance her after the audition. She progressed through Hollywood and subsequent rounds to reach the Top 7, where viewers ultimately voted her out. Even after leaving the show, Haven’s promise caught the attention of industry professionals: 19 Recordings featured her in a CMA Fest label showcase last summer, hinting at the label’s interest in developing her career.

American Idol first put a spotlight on Haven during last year’s CMA Awards when she was one of three contestants competing for a Platinum Ticket in the season’s early voting. While another contestant ultimately received the ticket, Haven’s appearance introduced her to a wider country and pop audience and helped build momentum ahead of her Idol run.

As Haven transitions from a standout contestant to a signed songwriter and recording artist, the combination of a publishing deal, industry backing from 19/BMG and early performance opportunities in Nashville set a clear path forward. Fans and industry watchers alike will be listening for the original material she’s writing and for the official releases that will follow this important new chapter in her career.
