American Idol season 6 winner Jordin Sparks to sing the National Anthem before 2023 World Series Game 3 (10/30)

Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Jordin Sparks will perform the National Anthem prior to Game 3 of the 2023 Major League Baseball World Series on October 30. The National League champion Arizona Diamondbacks host the American League champion Texas Rangers in the 119th Fall Classic, and Sparks — who grew up in Arizona after her family relocated there when her father, Phillippi Sparks, retired from the NFL — will take the field to sing for the packed stadium and the television audience.

Another notable vocalist from the American Idol family, Mickey Guyton, is scheduled to sing the National Anthem for Game 4. Fox’s network coverage of the World Series begins at 7:00 p.m. ET for all games, and the pregame anthem performances are expected to occur at approximately 7:45 p.m. ET, giving viewers nationwide the chance to tune in for these patriotic moments.

Sparks has a lengthy history of performing the National Anthem at major sporting events. Following her breakout win on American Idol, she was invited to sing the anthem at the Super Bowl in 2008, and she has since returned repeatedly to perform before professional sports contests. Her selection for the World Series stage is a reflection of both her vocal ability and her ties to the Arizona community.

Jordin recently signed a deal with music licensing company, Epidemic Sound

Beyond live performances, Jordin continues to expand her presence in the music industry. Last year she competed on season 31 of Dancing With the Stars with professional dancer Brandon Armstrong, finishing ninth in the competition. She has also announced a new partnership with music licensing company Epidemic Sound. Under this arrangement, she will create and release a collection of classic Christmas songs later this year. Those recordings are planned to be made available to the company’s global community of content creators and distributed across major digital streaming platforms.

This move into licensing and creator-focused releases is a strategic expansion of Sparks’ work as both a performer and songwriter. It positions her music for a wide variety of uses by video makers, advertisers, and online creators while also bringing seasonal material to traditional streaming audiences.

Jordin’s career traces back to her victory on season six of American Idol, one of the show’s most-watched seasons worldwide. Since then she has toured with internationally known artists including Britney Spears, Alicia Keys, The Jonas Brothers, New Kids on the Block, and the Backstreet Boys. In addition to her performance work, she serves as a Governor for the Los Angeles Chapter of the Recording Academy, reflecting her broader engagement with the music community.

Her catalog includes hit singles such as “No Air,” “One Step at a Time,” “Tattoo,” and “Battlefield.” Collectively, those tracks have sold more than 10 million singles in the United States. Sparks has also contributed behind the scenes as a songwriter, co-writing the smash single “The Way” for Ariana Grande, a credit that earned her a BMI songwriting award.

Most recently, Jordin released a new single titled “Call My Name,” which features her husband Dana Isaiah in the official music video. The release and the upcoming holiday collection underline that Sparks remains active both as a recording artist and as a content creator, balancing live appearances with strategic studio projects.

Singing the National Anthem at the World Series will be a prominent moment for Sparks this season, showcasing her vocal talent on one of the biggest live-sports stages in the U.S. Fans planning to watch Game 3 on Fox should expect the anthem performance during the pregame window, and those following her career can look forward to the new music she’s preparing with Epidemic Sound later in the year.
