
2021 MTV VMAs — Full List of Nominees
MTV has announced the official nominees for the 2021 Video Music Awards (VMAs). The nominations highlight artists whose music and cultural impact over the past year have shaped conversations around the world. Justin Bieber leads the nominations with seven nods, while Megan Thee Stallion follows closely with six. Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X and first-time nominee Olivia Rodrigo each earned five nominations.
The 2021 VMAs will return to New York City, airing live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on Sunday, September 12 at 8 PM ET/PT. The ceremony will reach a global audience across MTV’s linear and digital platforms in 180 countries and territories. For the second consecutive year the show will be simulcast across an expanded group of ViacomCBS channels to broaden its broadcast audience.
Fan voting opens today across 14 gender-neutral categories, including Video of the Year, Artist of the Year and Best Collaboration. Fans can cast their votes at vma.mtv.com through Friday, September 3, 2021; Burger King® is the official presenter of this year’s voting. Voting for Best New Artist, presented by Facebook, will remain open through the live broadcast on Sunday, September 12. MTV will announce nominations for social categories such as Best Group and Song of Summer at a later date.
