Queen + Adam Lambert — featuring Brian May, Roger Taylor and acclaimed frontman Adam Lambert — have confirmed additional international dates for their Rhapsody Tour in early 2024. Coming off a 22-date North American run later this year, the legendary rock partnership will play five stadium and dome concerts across Japan in February 2024, bringing their career-spanning show to fans in Nagoya, Osaka, Sapporo and Tokyo.

The Japan run opens on February 4 at Vantelin Dome Nagoya, moves to Kyocera Dome Osaka on February 7, then to Sapporo Dome on February 10, and concludes with two nights at the iconic Tokyo Dome on February 13 and 14. Across these five dates the band expects to perform for well over 200,000 fans, delivering the full-scale Rhapsody production that blends Queen’s timeless catalogue with modern staging and an electrifying performance from Adam Lambert.
“We are so excited to be returning to Japan”
Roger Taylor, speaking alongside Brian May, said: “We are so excited to be returning to Japan, the country that has always held a special and most honoured place in our hearts.” Taylor added: “This may be the last time… who knows? We promise to bring a very real spectacular for you to enjoy!” Their statement underscores the emotional and musical connection the band maintains with Japanese audiences.
Japan has been an important stop for Queen + Adam Lambert in recent years. The band returned to the country in 2020 for four sold-out shows, playing to a combined audience of over 132,000 people. The upcoming Sapporo date is particularly poignant: it marks the group’s first performance in the city since Queen’s Hot Space tour appearance on October 29, 1982 — more than four decades ago — making the return a notable moment for long-time fans.
“The Japan shows back in 2020 were so much fun,” says Adam Lambert
Adam Lambert commented on the announcement: “The Japan shows back in 2020 were so much fun, the audience were incredible! I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come back. Can’t wait!” His enthusiasm reflects the warm reception the band consistently receives in Japan and the high-energy rapport he brings to the stage.
The Rhapsody Tour setlist is designed to celebrate Queen’s vast and beloved catalogue. Expect arena-sized renditions of stadium anthems such as “We Will Rock You,” “Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Radio Ga Ga,” and “Somebody To Love,” interwoven with deep cuts and fan favourites that highlight the breadth of Queen’s songbook. The production combines a state-of-the-art stage design with spectacular lighting, visuals and special effects to create an immersive rock experience.
As with recent UK and European dates, Queen + Adam Lambert will be supported on stage by their seasoned touring band: long-serving Queen keyboard player Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren. Their presence helps preserve the sonic depth and live authenticity of Queen’s music while enabling dynamic arrangements for both classic hits and rarities.
The Rhapsody show continues to evolve as the band tours, but at its core it remains a heartfelt tribute to Freddie Mercury’s legacy, a showcase for Brian May and Roger Taylor’s enduring musical leadership, and a platform for Adam Lambert’s powerful vocals and stage charisma. Together they deliver a full-blooded celebration of some of the greatest songs in rock history, presented with respect for the originals and a renewed contemporary energy.
