The Voice returns for Season 28 with Snoop Dogg on the Panel
The Voice is confirmed to return to NBC for Season 28 this fall, and the first coach announced for the panel is Snoop Dogg. The artist has signed a new, overall creative partnership with NBCUniversal Entertainment & Studios and will join the long-running singing competition as part of that collaboration.
This new deal with NBCUniversal spans film, television, sports entertainment and streaming, reflecting a broad partnership that goes beyond the coach’s seat on The Voice. The agreement positions Snoop Dogg as a recurring creative partner across multiple platforms within the NBCUniversal family.
NBCUniversal chairman Donna Langley praised Snoop’s appeal and creative instincts, saying, “Audiences around the world love Snoop and connect with his unparalleled showmanship and artistry. Those of us lucky enough to be in his orbit also know his incredible business acumen, endlessly creative spirit and the unapologetic authenticity that he brings to every project. There’s only one Snoop, and we’re so excited for him to join our unbelievable roster of creative partners.”

Snoop Dogg signs overall deal with NBCUniversal after appearing on The Voice, Olympics and more
Snoop Dogg already has an established relationship with NBC and Peacock. He served on the coaches’ panel for Season 26 of The Voice, appeared as part of NBC and Peacock’s coverage of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, and co-hosted the American Song Contest with Kelly Clarkson in spring 2022. Those appearances laid the groundwork for a deeper, long-term arrangement with the network.
Outside of his work with NBCUniversal, Snoop has kept busy with a variety of projects that showcase his range as an entertainer and businessman. Late last year, his family-focused reality series, Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story, premiered on E!, offering viewers a personal look at his family life. He is also attached to a Universal film about his life — a project first announced in 2022 after his acquisition of Death Row Records — and continues to develop content under the Death Row Pictures banner.
In announcing the deal, Snoop expressed enthusiasm about joining NBCUniversal’s creative community: “Not everyone has the courage and vision to see what Death Row Pictures can bring to the table, but Donna and the NBCUniversal team have always understood, which is why I am proud to call NBCUniversal my new home. The Dogg has officially moved into the neighborhood, ya dig?”
For fans of The Voice, Snoop’s return to the panel signals an energetic and culturally relevant shift for Season 28. His experience across music, television and large-scale live events makes him a distinctive presence in the coaching room. As NBCUniversal begins rolling out plans tied to the new partnership, viewers can expect Snoop to appear not only as a coach on the singing competition but also across scripted and unscripted projects, streaming initiatives and special event programming tied to the network.
NBC’s announcement underscores a broader trend in entertainment partnerships where artists expand into multi-platform roles, combining creative input, production responsibilities and on-camera appearances. In Snoop’s case, his varied background — from hip-hop icon and record executive to television personality and producer — aligns with NBCUniversal’s aim to develop compelling content for broadcast, streaming and live events.
Season 28 of The Voice is scheduled for the fall television season on NBC. With Snoop Dogg confirmed as a coach and now a formal creative partner with NBCUniversal, anticipation is building around the new season and the additional projects that may follow from this expanded collaboration.
