Survivor Season 45 Week 3 Recap, Live Blog and Results

Tonight’s episode of Survivor Season 45 delivered strategy shifts, a stealthy reward raid and a surprise blindside at tribal council. Below is a clear, scene-by-scene recap of Week 3 — including challenge outcomes, hidden immunity idol developments, and the resulting elimination.

The episode opens with Lulu returning to camp after tribal council, where Brandon “Brando” Meyer was sent home due to weak challenge showings. Tensions at Lulu remain high: Sabiyah Broderick is wrestling with whether she can fully trust Emily Flippen, while Emily notices that Jeff Probst read only two votes earlier — a detail that doesn’t add up. Sabiyah lies about casting a vote, claiming she voted when she hadn’t. In confessional, Kaleb Gebrewold says Emily still hasn’t learned from past mistakes, but he plans to keep her close as an ally.

A reward challenge

The reward challenge pits tribes through an obstacle course and a ring-toss finale. The first two tribes to complete the course win fresh fruit, and the challenge winner also gets to send one member to raid another camp for supplies. Lulu’s Lulu (the tribe name) takes an early lead when Kaleb lands all three rings for Lulu, securing reward. Belo also finishes strong when Austin lands the decisive ring, so both Lulu and Belo win reward.

Kaleb is chosen to board a boat and visit Reba’s camp to take fishing gear as part of a raid. He’s also carrying a goodwill advantage to hand to one Reba tribe member: an advantage that can restore a player’s vote at a tribal council if they otherwise cannot vote. Kaleb uses the visit to gather social information and ultimately gives the goodwill advantage to Drew Basile. Drew shares the detail with his Reba allies; this eases Austin’s immediate concerns because Austin currently can’t vote due to possessing the Beware Advantage.

Searching for the hidden immunity idol

Back at Belo camp, the male members head out to the water while the women discuss strategy. Kendra McQuarrie tries to bridge a divide between the men and women and signals willingness to work with Jake O’Kane; Katurah Topps pushes to target Bruce Perreault. Kellie Nalbandian and Brando acknowledge they’re in swing-vote positions, realizing they’ll have power at the next tribal council.

On Reba, Austin, Drew, Julie Alley and Dee Valladares search for the hidden immunity idol together. Dee and Julie discover a clue: buried rope leading to a hammer. Austin uses the hammer to smash a rock by the well and uncovers the hidden immunity idol — but it comes with complicated conditions. Austin can choose to make the idol last only for his first tribal council, or he can sacrifice one of his votes to extend the idol’s longevity until all remaining players share the same beach. Sacrificing two votes would keep the idol active until there are five players left. It’s a high-stakes choice that hinges on how much Austin is willing to risk to protect the idol’s power.

Time for the immunity chllenge

The immunity challenge asks players to collect keys while pushing a cart through obstacles, then solve a large cube puzzle. Reba and Belo finish the puzzle and claim immunity, while Lulu falls behind and fails to solve the cube. That result sends Lulu back to tribal council, where they must face a second consecutive vote-off.

At Lulu camp, shifting loyalties come to light. Sabiyah and Sean Edwards discuss targeting Kaleb if they lose again, and they propose this plan to Emily. Emily, who appreciates Kaleb’s kindness, is conflicted because she also recognizes Kaleb as a social threat. Sabiyah continues to manipulate the situation, pressing Emily to target Kaleb publicly while privately preparing her own strategy. Sabiyah still can’t vote until the wax melts off her idol, which introduces additional uncertainty to the vote math.

Tribal council begins

Before tribal council begins, Sabiyah places her hidden immunity idol into the fire so the wax will melt and the idol becomes active. Jeff Probst opens discussion by asking Kaleb about the recent raid; Kaleb frames it as a useful intelligence operation. Conversation shifts quickly to Lulu’s second straight loss and the blame game. Emily voices frustration, feeling her game is on the line. Sabiyah argues that others at camp never suggested she go home, attempting to deflect attention. As the wax melts and the idol activates, alliances try to read who will flip and who will hold firm.

Before voting, Emily privately tells Kaleb that he’s the real target and urges him to help vote out Sabiyah to protect himself. Kaleb is confused: Sabiyah had earlier told him she would instruct Emily to vote for Kaleb to create a false sense of security. With loyalties in flux and votes uncertain — especially because Sabiyah is weighing whether to sacrifice her vote to extend the idol’s life — the tribal council becomes a tense mental chess match.

The third person voted out of Survivor 45 is…

Jeff reads the votes. The first vote is for Sabiyah. The second is for Kaleb. The third vote returns to Sabiyah. With that, Sabiyah is eliminated.

Sabiyah Broderick is the third player voted out of Survivor 45. The blindside surprises both Sabiyah and Sean, but Sabiyah departs with composure. Her exit reshuffles the dynamics at Lulu, leaving Kaleb, Emily and the remaining players recalibrating their plans heading into Week 4.

That concludes this week’s Survivor Season 45 recap. The episode highlighted shifting alliances, idol strategy with real consequences, and the razor-thin math that defines life at tribal council. Check back next week for another episode breakdown and updated results.
