Survivor Season 48 Week 10: Live Blog and Episode Recap

Survivor Recap: Live Episode Summary from CBS

A new episode of Survivor aired tonight on CBS. Below is a live recap of the episode’s key moments, alliances, challenges, and tonight’s Tribal Council outcome.

Return to Camp and Shifting Alliances

The episode opens with the tribe returning to camp after voting out David. Mary is distraught over the loss of her closest ally and feels like she’s back at the bottom of the pecking order. Later, Eva approaches Mary to apologize and admits she may have to write Mary’s name down at a future vote. In confessionals, Eva explains she wants to be straightforward with Joe, Kyle, and Shauhin and believes her numbers and in-game advantages make their alliance secure.

Across camp, Star, Kamilla, and Mary plot to undermine that dominant alliance. They hope to recruit Mitch and spark a revolt. Star colorfully warns that “the big people will be eaten by the piranhas,” and the three agree that Joe would be a primary target if he doesn’t win immunity.

Strategizing and Doubts

Shauhin worries privately that Kamilla and Mitch might recognize they’re outside the main alliance and flip. Joe, meanwhile, feels confident in his four-person alliance with Eva, Kyle, and Shauhin and views Kamilla and Mitch as expendable numbers. Joe and Eva discuss a plan to systematically eliminate threats: Star and Mary first, followed by Kamilla and Mitch, with the goal of reaching the endgame together.

Kamilla confides she doesn’t want to simply be another number for Joe’s alliance and discusses covert plans with Kyle. Kyle, however, resists betraying Joe, citing a personal bond and declining to participate in a blindside. Mitch, still smarting from past votes, is skeptical of working with Star and calls the idea of a tie and rocks “the biggest joke.”

Reward Challenge: Kyle Prevails

The reward challenge required contestants to move with arms and legs bound, drag a buoy with their mouths, untangle rope, and then toss rings onto a post—first to land three rings wins a picnic. Shauhin took an early lead, Kyle overtook him, and Joe surged ahead during the rope portion. In the ring toss, Kyle ultimately secured three rings before Joe.

Kyle won the reward and selected teammates to join him. He first chose Eva, then Kamilla and Shauhin after host prompting. On the picnic boat, the reward winners agreed they needed to prevent Star and Mary from winning immunity and expressed confidence that their alliance wouldn’t be targeted.

Back at camp, Joe admitted he was bothered not to be invited but reasoned Kyle left him behind to manage the others. Wanting to shore up jury relations, Joe pulled Mary aside and bluntly told her that people thought she influenced David to be paranoid, framing his honesty as a bid for her jury vote. Mary recognized the move as jury management and found it amusing.

Mistrust Grows and the Immunity Challenge

Mary then asked Mitch whether he’d be willing to take the rocks if the vote resulted in a tie. Mitch hadn’t planned to, but being left off the reward made him reconsider; he didn’t want to be seen as a frightened player. Mary reiterated the plan to vote for Joe if he failed to win immunity.

The immunity challenge tasked players with stacking letter blocks on a wobbly table, spelling “IMMUNITY” while balancing. Jeff announced a rice negotiation option—three people could give up immunity to secure rice for the tribe—but the players rejected it and all competed. As the challenge progressed, blocks fell and leads shifted. Joe gained a solid advantage, and after a tense finish he managed to hold his blocks and make it back to the starting point without dropping anything.

Joe won immunity, ensuring his safety for tonight’s Tribal Council.

Final Maneuvers Before Tribal Council

After the immunity win, camp conversations intensified. Mitch considered playing his Shot in the Dark. Kamilla, skeptical of the majority, suggested voting out Mary after Mary’s earlier interactions made Kamilla uneasy. Mary and Star compared notes and realized they were both likely on the chopping block; they prepared to vote for one another to try to survive the vote.

Shauhin preferred to target Star and pitched that option to his allies. Before Tribal Council, Joe and Shauhin spoke privately: Shauhin reminded Joe that Mary had once put Eva’s name into play, and Joe urged shifting the vote toward Mary, noting Mary might have a better shot at immunity than Star.

Tribal Council and the Vote

At Tribal Council, Jeff Probst asked each contestant to summarize what was happening at camp and who they trusted. Mitch described small group maneuvering; Mary spoke about mistrust and her pitch to stay as a loyal, usable number; Shauhin emphasized operating from trust instead of paranoia; Eva said the group was following earlier discussions; and Kamilla observed that finalists are already thinking about Final Three alignments. Star hinted she might play her Shot in the Dark and vowed to remain hopeful until her torch was snuffed.

When the votes were read, they bounced between Star and Mary, but the tally ultimately sealed the outcome:

Star

Mary

Star

Mary

Star

Mary

Star

Star

Star was voted out, becoming the eleventh person eliminated and the fourth member of the jury.

Episode Wrap-Up

Tonight’s episode centered on shifting alliances, mistrust after a blindside, and the power of immunity to reshape plans. The dominant alliance continued to exert pressure, while smaller groups tried to spark a revolt that ultimately failed. With Star’s elimination, the dynamics heading into the next episode will be shaped by both the remaining numbers and individual trust—or the lack of it.
