Survivor Season 48 Week 7 Recap
This Week 7 recap of Survivor Season 48 centers on the fallout from the Blood Moon twist, shifting alliances, and a dramatic tribal council that sends one player to the jury. The episode opened with the castaways returning to camp in three separate groups following the twist; each group brought different tensions back to camp that would shape the votes and strategy for the night.
The first returning group — the one that had voted out Kamilla — included Tiffany, who appeared hurt but resolute. She used her confessional to promise she would seek payback. The second group, which had voted out Genevieve, featured Aubry, who did not play her hidden immunity idol. She later told Rick she had simply forgotten to play it. Rick and others found that explanation hard to believe, viewing Aubry’s claim as a risky lie designed to hold onto her idol. Aubry acknowledged in her confessional that the heat on her was a wake-up call.
The third group returned after voting out Colby. Coach framed Colby’s elimination as an honorable sendoff, lamenting the loss of their Four Horsemen alliance that now counted just him, Jonathan, and Joe. Coach was also upset that Dee had considered voting for him, and he and Jonathan drew what they described as a line in the sand.
Tensions continued to rise the following morning when Dee and Tiffany exchanged updates and clashed over recent flips. Jonathan confronted Dee, accusing her of lying; Dee denied intentional deception, though Jonathan reminded her of past misdirection involving the blindside of Charlie. The confrontation attracted attention around camp and left Jonathan openly gunning for Dee as a target.
Exile Island returned Ozzy and Rizo to camp, where Coach immediately tried to recruit Rizo as a replacement for Colby in the Four Horsemen. Rizo politely played along while quietly strengthening his own alliance with Cirie and Ozzy. Rizo later found himself at the center of new gossip when Emily told him Dee had allegedly revealed that he had an idol; Dee denied it when confronted, though flashbacks showed her admitting on several occasions that Rizo possessed a hidden immunity idol and later calling herself “messy.”
A surprising individual twist arrived by boat: one player would be chosen to go on a solo Journey. Stephenie was the random draw and faced a physically and mentally demanding advantage challenge — tethering her arm to a bucket while balancing on a perch for an hour. Given her prior shoulder injury from Heroes vs. Villains, this was a particularly daunting task. Stephenie persisted and completed the hour, earning a Steal-a-Vote advantage.
Back at camp Stephenie briefly lied, claiming she had lasted only thirty minutes and therefore kept her vote instead of winning an advantage. Cirie sensed the deception and pressed Stephenie, who ultimately confessed about the Steal-a-Vote. Cirie pledged to keep the secret but soon relayed the advantage information to Rizo. The revelation, paired with Rizo’s reports about Dee’s alleged idol chatter, sparked talk of voting Dee out at the upcoming tribal council.
For the reward challenge, the cast was split into two teams in a schoolyard pick. They had to roll a boulder through obstacles, collect keys, and pull themselves onto a platform before two teammates completed a puzzle. The Blue Team — featuring Christian, Ozzy, Rick, Emily, Dee, Stephenie, and Joe — narrowly won the group puzzle and the Chinese food reward, earning the right to compete in a second, individual immunity contest.
The immunity challenge was an endurance event in which players balanced on a narrow beam while keeping a ball atop a pole. Eliminations came quickly: Rick dropped early, followed by Emily, Christian, Stephenie, and Dee. That left Joe and Ozzy; after a tense final exchange, Ozzy outlasted Joe and claimed individual immunity.
At camp, strategy meetings intensified. Aubry declared she would play her hidden immunity idol to remove a target from herself, reasoning that once the idol was gone she would no longer be the priority. Meanwhile, Coach, Chrissy, and Jonathan plotted a split vote scheme to flush out opposing plans, designating Tiffany as a backup option. Coach expected to manage a 7-4 split but grew furious when he learned Christian had been told about the plan, believing the information had been leaked.
Camp dynamics continued to shift as some players considered targeting Coach instead. Rizo noted Coach’s abrasive gameplay and wondered whether the group could flip to oust him. Emily, Rick, Tiffany, Dee, and Ozzy each weighed the possibility, but assembling the necessary votes was uncertain.
At tribal council, Jeff Probst addressed the fallout from the Blood Moon twist and the growing fractures in the cast. Jonathan declared that a line had been drawn in the sand, while others noted the challenge of aligning so many different agendas. Dee acknowledged that her name was circulating but argued that the true danger came from players who had not yet chosen a side. As the conversation heated, Dee quietly tried to latch onto a plan to vote out Coach, signaling she believed she had the numbers to flip.
When the votes were cast, Aubry preemptively played her hidden immunity idol on herself, nullifying any votes against her. Dee also played her Shot in the Dark advantage, which revealed the result “Not Safe,” meaning any votes she received would still count. The votes were read aloud in sequence, showing a split between Coach, Tiffany, and Dee. Ultimately Dee received the majority of the counted votes and was voted out.
Dee Valladares became the eleventh person eliminated this season and the first member of the jury. The episode closed with the camp adjusting to new alliances and the game moving into its next phase as players rethink strategy ahead of Week 8.
