Fresh off her role as a mentor on The Voice, Cher will appear next week on ABC as a guest judge on Dancing with the Stars.
CHER TO GUEST JUDGE AND PERFORM ON ABC’S “DANCING WITH THE STARS,” MONDAY, NOVEMBER 4
The two-hour episode will be a special tribute to Cher’s extraordinary six-decade career. The Grammy®, Oscar® and Emmy® winner will open the show with a performance of her iconic hit “Believe” and later return to perform her new single “I Hope You Find It” from the album Closer to the Truth. After her opening number, Cher will join judges Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba on the panel to offer critiques and scores to the celebrity competitors.
On this episode, the seven remaining couples will each perform twice. In the first round, every pair will tackle a dance style they have not yet attempted this season, with options that include Tango, Argentine Tango, Contemporary, Viennese Waltz, Jazz, Disco, and Foxtrot. The couple that earns the highest combined judges’ score in round one will receive immunity and be safe from elimination.
Round two will pit the six remaining couples against one another in head-to-head dance-offs. Winning couples in these direct matchups will receive additional judges’ points, which will be added to their overall scores for the night. At the close of the episode, following Cher’s second performance, one couple will be eliminated.
Cher’s appearance continues a trend this season of guest judges filling in while Len Goodman takes a break. Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba will join Cher on the panel, maintaining the show’s mix of ballroom expertise and lively commentary.
Cher’s influence in music and entertainment spans nearly five decades—she is the only artist to have a No. 1 single in six different decades. Her long list of career achievements includes top awards in music and film, stage and screen credits, and numerous honors recognizing her impact on pop culture. Her recent work includes the album Closer to the Truth, released after a 12-year recording hiatus, which debuted strongly on the charts. The dance single “Woman’s World” also topped the Billboard Club Play Chart.
The episode will be hosted by Emmy® Award-winning Tom Bergeron, along with Brooke Burke-Charvet, the show’s Season 7 champion. Dancing with the Stars continues to pair celebrities with professional dancers to perform choreographed routines judged by the show’s panel and scored for both technique and entertainment value.
Viewers can participate in the outcome by voting for their favorite couples. Phone voting is open on Monday nights during the broadcast and for up to 60 minutes after each local airing. Online and social voting is also available through the network’s official channels for a 24-hour period beginning with the East Coast broadcast; special voting hours apply for the season finale week. The program also uses a custom social app to let fans share votes and interact around their favorite teams.
Dancing with the Stars is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, with Conrad Green, Ashley Edens-Shaffer and Joe Sungkur serving as executive producers. Alex Rudzinski directs the series.
This upcoming episode offers a rare opportunity to celebrate Cher’s legacy while showcasing the competitive spirit of Dancing with the Stars. With two live performances and a guest judging appearance, Cher brings both musical star power and fresh perspective to the ballroom.
