Mediabase Monday Update July 11-17: Radio Airplay Charts

Weekly Music Chart Update: Carrie Underwood, Fifth Harmony, Drake and More

Country superstar Carrie Underwood returns to the top of the Country airplay chart. The Season 4 American Idol winner continues her streak of chart-topping singles with her third release from the fifth studio album Storyteller: “Church Bells.” Her consistent radio success keeps her a dominant presence on the Country charts.

On the Pop chart, Fifth Harmony reaches a new milestone. The five-piece group formed on X-Factor US climbs into the Top 15 with “All in My Head (Flex),” their second single from the second album 7/27 (named for the date the band was formed). Their first single from that album previously hit number one on the Pop chart, and this new entry continues their mainstream momentum.

In album news, Drake reclaims the top spot on the Billboard 200 with Views for a 10th non-consecutive week. Views is now one of only ten albums in the past 20 years to spend 10 weeks at number one on the Billboard 200, joining long-running chart leaders such as Adele’s 21 and 25, Titanic, Frozen, Santana’s Supernatural, Alanis Morissette’s Jagged Little Pill, Taylor Swift’s 1989, and the Backstreet Boys’ Millennium.
