Kelly Clarkson Brings Her Kids on Stage in Vegas to Perform

Kelly Clarkson invited her kids, River Rose and Remy on stage to perform with her in Las Vegas

Kelly Clarkson brought a personal, family moment to her Planet Hollywood residency in Las Vegas on Friday night, inviting both of her children—son Remington “Remy” Alexander, 7, and daughter River Rose, 9—onstage to sing and dance with her during the Chemistry show.

Ahead of the performance, Clarkson shared a backstage photo of her two kids on Instagram, writing, “Both of my kiddos backstage getting ready to join me on stage in Vegas. Nothing will ever be as cool and amazing as these two little humans that will always have my whole heart.” The candid post captured the excitement and pride she feels performing with them.

“Give it up for Remy B!”

During the show, Clarkson introduced her son with playful enthusiasm, telling the audience that Remy had picked a great song for a seven-year-old. “My son is seven years old. He picked the coolest song for a dude to pick. I was like, ‘He was destined for greatness just for loving this song alone,’” she said from the stage.

She called him out as “Remy B,” and the boy sprinted onstage to give his mother a hug. Before they performed, Clarkson reassured him about the crowd, explaining they dance often at home—complete with a disco ball—so the stage shouldn’t be intimidating. Remy then showcased his dance moves as Clarkson performed “Whole Lotta Woman,” the 2017 track from her album The Meaning of Life, while the pair enjoyed a spirited moment together.

After the duet, Clarkson cheered, “Give it up for Remy B!” and sent him off with a goodbye hug and a kiss to the forehead, sharing a warm family moment with the audience.

River Rose was nervous, but belted “Heartbeat Song” with mom confidently

Later in the show, Clarkson invited her daughter River Rose onstage for a duet. Clarkson explained that River has loved “Heartbeat Song” since she was very young and had chosen the song herself for the moment. River also selected her own dress for the appearance.

Although River admitted she felt nervous—“Oh my God! I’m scared!”—Clarkson praised her confidence and reminded her that she had “killed it in soundcheck.” During the performance, the pair adjusted a lyric mid-song for the live audience, changing “hell” to “heck,” and swayed together as they sang. After the duet, Clarkson embraced River, kissed her forehead and invited the crowd to applaud: “Give it up for River Rose, everybody!”—to which River shyly responded, “Thank you everyone!”

Kelly divorced River and Remy’s father, Brandon Blackstock in 2020

Clarkson’s recent album Chemistry explores the emotional aftermath of her seven-year marriage to Brandon Blackstock, the father of River and Remy. The couple separated in 2020 and finalized their divorce in 2021 after legal disputes over finances and property.

The expanded deluxe version of her tenth studio album, chemistry (deluxe), is scheduled for release on September 22 via Atlantic Records. Clarkson is set to mark the deluxe release with a live appearance from Rockefeller Plaza for the TODAY Show’s 2023 Citi Summer Concert Series on September 22, followed by a performance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the T‑Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on September 23. She is also included on the lineup for Audacy’s “We Can Survive” concert on October 14 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

On television, Clarkson’s multi‑Emmy Award–winning The Kelly Clarkson Show is preparing to relocate production to New York City for its upcoming fifth season, with the program already secured through 2025. Between her residency, album promotion and television commitments, Clarkson continues to balance a busy public schedule with visible moments of family pride onstage.
