Former The Voice coach Usher set to headline Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show

Apple Music, the NFL and Roc Nation have confirmed that Grammy-winning artist Usher will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show. The performance is scheduled for Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, and will air live on CBS.

In announcing the news, Usher called the opportunity “an honor of a lifetime,” saying he is excited to check a Super Bowl performance off his bucket list and promising “a show unlike anything else” he’s done before. He thanked fans and collaborators for making the moment possible and said, “I’ll see you real soon.”

Seth Dudowsky, the NFL’s Head of Music, praised Usher’s impact on popular culture and expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career. We couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.” Dudowsky added that the NFL looks forward to working with Usher, Roc Nation and Apple Music to deliver a memorable halftime performance.

Roc Nation founder JAY-Z also offered high praise, calling Usher “the ultimate artist and showman.” JAY-Z highlighted Usher’s long record of artistic achievement since his teenage debut, noting the singer’s combination of vocal skill, choreography and emotional transparency. “His remarkable journey has propelled him to one of the grandest stages in the world. I can’t wait to see the magic,” JAY-Z said.

Usher joined The Voice as a coach for season 4 in 2013, where his contestant Michelle Chamuel finished as the runner-up. He returned for season 6 in 2014 and led his team to victory with contestant Josh Kaufman. Usher later contributed as a special guest mentor during season 8 in 2015, sharing his performance and vocal expertise with new contestants.

Beyond music and television, Usher is recognized for his philanthropic leadership. He has helped raise tens of millions of dollars for charitable causes and has focused on empowering young people through his New Look Foundation.
