The Voice 24: The Blind Auditions end, plus VOTE in a new poll and last week’s POLL results
The Voice Season 24 wraps up its Blind Auditions on Monday night (Oct 16). With the final auditions completed, each coach will advance a full team of 14 artists into the Battle Rounds, which begin the following evening on Tuesday, Oct 17.
Across the season’s Blind Auditions we’ve seen a variety of approaches from the coaches and some recurring trends: no auditioning groups so far, the Block option becoming a factor from week two on, and several multi-chair turns that have made the blinds particularly dramatic. As the reigning coach-winner, Niall Horan appears to be drawing more interest this season compared with his first time on the panel last spring. Veteran coach Reba McEntire has collected numerous one-chair turns, Gwen Stefani picked up a promising country performer in Jacquie Roar, and John Legend continues to attract singers who emphasize artistry and musicianship.
Four-chair turns have been frequent this season, and while many of those moments reflect genuine buzz around a contestant, the quantity of four-chair turns does not always translate to a deeper talent pool overall. Still, season 24 features several contestants who look capable of advancing far in the competition, and the roster heading into Battles suggests a strong, competitive season.
Below are the results from last week’s viewer poll, plus a chance to vote for your favorites from Parts 5 and 6 of the Blind Auditions. The poll results reflect fan favorites based on vocal performance, stage presence, song choice, and how memorable the audition was.
Last week’s poll leaders included Chechi Sarai, whose whistle tones and rendition of “Lovin’ You” earned her the top spot with just over 20% of the vote. Close behind, Kaylee Shimizu landed second with a Beatles cover, and country singer Jacquie Roar placed third. Season veterans and televised-competition alumni also fared well: RUDI and Mac Royals rounded out the Top 5.
