The Voice Season 27: LeAnn Rimes and Sheryl Crow Join as Playoffs Mega Mentors

Singer-songwriters Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes are joining The Voice Season 27 as the show’s Playoffs mega mentors. The series airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and is available to stream the next day on Peacock. Both mentors will work alongside the four coaches to help remaining contestants sharpen their performances and prepare for the Live Shows, which follow the Playoffs beginning Monday, April 28.

For the Playoffs this season, each coach arrives with five artists on their team. Coaches will select two artists from their roster to advance directly to the next round before viewer voting commences. As mega mentors, Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes will bring fresh perspective and industry experience—assisting with song choice, arrangement, vocal technique, stage presence and other performance details—to help artists present their strongest possible versions on the Playoffs stage.

LeAnn Rimes will mentor alongside coaches John Legend and Adam Levine, while Sheryl Crow will partner with coaches Kelsea Ballerini and Michael Bublé. These pairings allow each team to benefit from a combination of the coach’s ongoing guidance and the guest mentor’s outside viewpoint as the artists compete for spots in the Live Shows.

LeAnn Rimes: International coaching experience and a Masked Singer champion

LeAnn Rimes is a multi-platinum-selling singer and ASCAP award-winning songwriter who achieved early major success as a recording artist. She won a Grammy at age 14 and later became the first country artist to be named Billboard Music Awards’ Artist of the Year while still a teenager. In 2024, Rimes served as a coach on both The Voice Australia and The Voice UK, bringing international coaching experience and a modern country-pop sensibility to the mentoring table. She also won the FOX competition The Masked Singer in 2020 as “The Sun,” showcasing her vocal versatility and performance skills in a high-pressure, televised setting. Outside of television, Rimes hosts a podcast called “Wholly Human,” which grew out of her wellness platform and reached the top tier of the Health & Fitness chart on iTunes.

Sheryl Crow: A celebrated career and recent album release

Sheryl Crow is a Grammy-winning singer-songwriter with a long-standing career in pop, rock and roots-influenced music. She was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2023, a recognition that highlights her influence and achievements in the recording industry. In March 2024 she released her 11th full-length studio album, “Evolution,” adding to a catalog that spans multiple decades. As a mega mentor, Crow brings decades of songwriting, arranging and touring experience to help artists develop authentic interpretations and compelling live performances.

Together, the addition of LeAnn Rimes and Sheryl Crow as Playoffs mega mentors strengthens the Season 27 mentorship lineup, giving contestants access to a wider range of creative input and professional guidance. Their combined experience—from international coaching roles and television competition wins to major recording achievements—will inform practical coaching on vocal technique, emotional storytelling, harmonies, and performance dynamics.

Fans can expect heightened collaboration during the Playoffs as coaches and their mega mentors work intensively with each artist ahead of the Live Shows. The Playoffs format rewards both artistic growth and audience connection, and the presence of high-profile mentors often helps contestants refine their identity and stagecraft in ways that resonate with viewers and voters.
