FOX Unveils Fall Premiere Dates, Including The Masked Singer
FOX has announced its fall premiere lineup. With the writers’ strike affecting the development and delivery of new scripted episodes, the network has leaned heavily on reality, competition, game shows and sports to fill prime-time hours. The refreshed schedule mixes returning unscripted hits with new series and special events intended to deliver broad audience appeal through the autumn season.
Celebrity Name That Tune, hosted by Jane Krakowski with bandleader Randy Jackson, will premiere on Tuesday, September 19 at 8:00 p.m. ET, followed by the season premiere of I Can See Your Voice at 9:00 p.m. ET. The latter, hosted and executive produced by Ken Jeong, returns for season three with themed nights and a rotating panel that includes Cheryl Hines and Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, among others, helping contestants distinguish between strong and weak singers.
The Masked Singer Kicks Off Its Landmark 10th Season on September 27
The Masked Singer begins its milestone 10th season on Wednesday, September 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET. The episode will be followed at 9:00 p.m. ET by the series premiere of the new game show Snake Oil, hosted by David Spade.
To mark its tenth season, The Masked Singer promises some of the most elaborate costumes in the show’s history and a lineup of high-profile celebrity competitors. Host Nick Cannon will return alongside longtime panelists Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke. The new season will also bring back themed episodes that have been fan favorites in previous years.
The Emmys are scheduled to air on FOX on September 17, though that telecast is not listed in FOX’s current schedule release. Network timing and some premiere dates remain contingent on the resolution of the writers’ strike and the potential involvement of SAG-AFTRA, which could impact production and rollout plans for scripted series.
Several scripted series—those that require writers under union agreements—are slated for the 2023–2024 season but will depend on writers returning to work. These include drama series such as 9-1-1: Lone Star, Accused, Alert: Missing Persons Unit, The Cleaning Lady, Doc and Rescue: HI-Surf. Comedies listed to return include Animal Control and Grimsburg. FOX also has several reality and special-event titles still to be scheduled, including Farmer Wants a Wife, LEGO Masters: Celebrity Holiday Bricktacular, a spring edition of The Masked Singer, Next Level Chef and We Are Family.
