NBC Announces Midseason 2025 Premiere Dates, including a The Voice early kickoff

NBC has revealed its midseason 2025 lineup, positioning several returning series and a handful of new programs across its schedule. Notably, The Voice season 27 is slated for an early-February launch, kicking off in the first week of the month as part of the network’s revamped midseason plan. The slate reflects NBC’s effort to stagger major reality and scripted launches to maximize audience flow through the spring.

No Tuesday shows for The Voice 27?

For the start of the run, NBC is not listing The Voice on its regular Tuesday block. Instead, the network has programmed an hour of Deal or No Deal Island in the Tuesday 9 p.m. slot. That scheduling suggests The Voice will begin on Mondays and may move into a two-night rhythm later in the season once other programs conclude. Historically, live competition rounds often require multiple weekly airings, so viewers should expect at least a temporary increase in frequency during the live performance weeks.

The coaches lineup draws attention this season: veteran coach Adam Levine returns to his red chair after a long absence; John Legend is back after sitting out a season; Michael Bublé returns for a second consecutive stint; and newcomer Kelsea Ballerini takes her place on the panel. Longtime host Carson Daly continues in his hosting role. This mix of established stars and fresh faces frames the season with both continuity and new energy.

Another notable scheduling move is that The Voice will begin well ahead of American Idol, which is slated to premiere on Sunday, March 9. In recent seasons the two talent franchises have traded earlier premieres, with American Idol sometimes launching in mid-February and The Voice starting in March. This season reverses that pattern, giving The Voice a head start in the competition-for-viewers that dominates the spring broadcast calendar.
