Survivor Season 48 Week 12 Recap and Live Blog – Castaways enter the final six

Tonight’s episode of Survivor delivered high-stakes strategy, emotional reward moments, and a decisive tribal council that sent a key player to the jury. Below is a live-style recap of the episode, covering the reward and immunity challenges, shifting alliances, and the votes that determined the next juror.

The episode opens with the remaining castaways returning to camp after the previous tribal council. Mitch is relieved to have secured his spot in the Final Six, while Eva believes the four-person majority alliance will hold together to eliminate the two outsiders, Mitch and Kamilla. The majority quickly sets its sights on Mitch as their next target. Kyle, however, admits in confessionals that he’s conflicted: his closest ally is Kamilla, but he also feels bonds with members of the majority. He debates whether to stay loyal or make a move that could shift the power balance.

Shauhin is confident in his gameplay and doesn’t see Joe as an immediate threat to target. Kyle and Kamilla, though, privately consider whether Joe should be the next target—recognizing him as a major threat to win in the endgame. Kamilla interprets Kyle’s behavior as playing a game of chicken with Joe and Shauhin and believes this could be the last opportunity to take out Joe.

The cast greets Jeff for a rainy reward challenge: an endurance test on a slanted platform over water, where competitors progressively move down to smaller handholds. The last person standing will win a trip to the sanctuary, a burger and fries, and letters from home. The challenge stretches through several rounds; contestants ultimately reach the smallest handholds and must keep their legs straight. Kamilla drops early, followed by Mitch. Eva is eliminated for bending her legs; Joe and Kyle fall shortly after. Shauhin wins the reward, and he chooses Joe and Kyle to join him at the sanctuary.

At reward, the trio share an emotional moment reading letters from home. Joe opens up about the loss of his sister to domestic violence, offering one of the most powerful confessional scenes of the evening. Back at camp, Mitch and Kamilla are frustrated that Joe was brought on reward, criticizing Shauhin’s decision. Mitch’s anger overlooks the fact that he previously declined an opportunity to vote Joe out. Eva feels left out by not being included on reward and hopes her allies remember her when they return.

During conversations on reward, Joe and Shauhin discuss voting Mitch out. Later, Shauhin and Kyle compare notes, both claiming to be in the middle of the tribe’s power structure. They characterize Kamilla and Mitch as one duo and Joe and Eva as another, though Kyle’s true primary alliance remains with Kamilla. Shauhin contemplates whether to target Joe or Eva—particularly concerned about Eva’s potential idol. Kyle, in confessionals, says he doesn’t want to simply follow Shauhin’s lead; he wants to orchestrate his own play and manipulate the narrative to his advantage.

After returning to camp, Kyle quickly confides in Kamilla. He tells her Shauhin plans to target Eva and proposes a blindside against Shauhin by convincing Joe and Eva that Shauhin has shown Kamilla a hidden immunity idol—a claim that Kyle admits is a lie. The goal is to make Kyle and Kamilla appear to be the strategic brains of the group. Meanwhile, Joe has a poignant solo moment by the water, speaking to his sister and apologizing for things he said before her death.

The immunity challenge tests balance and dexterity: contestants walk on a barrel while holding a rope, crawl under a net to retrieve balls, then guide the balls through a snake-like track. Shauhin takes an early lead while Eva initially lags. As the race tightens, Joe completes the required tasks first. Joe wins immunity, guaranteeing his safety for the vote ahead.

Back at camp, Kyle seizes the moment to pitch the blindside to Joe despite Joe’s immunity. He repeats the false claim that Shauhin revealed an idol to Kamilla. Joe expresses skepticism but listens, then confers with Eva—who is inclined to trust Kyle over Shauhin. Kamilla corroborates the story, reinforcing Joe’s uncertainty. When Joe confronts Shauhin about idols or advantages, Shauhin denies having any and reiterates the plan to vote Mitch out. Frustration simmers as Shauhin senses discontent in the group and starts considering voting for Eva instead, while still publicly insisting Mitch is the target.

Time for the vote

At tribal council, each castaway reflects on trust, paranoia, and strategic positioning. Mitch reminds himself that it’s a game, Eva leans on relationships she has built, Kyle admits to feeling the squeeze of fewer hiding places, Kamilla emphasizes her steady approach, and Shauhin comments on how quickly alliances can shift. Joe urges everyone to think several moves ahead. Then the votes are cast.

Jeff reads the votes aloud:

Shauhin

Mitch

Mitch

Shauhin

Shauhin

Shauhin

Shauhin is the thirteenth person voted out and the sixth member of the jury. He embraces his tribemates before walking out as his torch is extinguished.
