The Amazing Race — Live Recap: Prague, Czechia (Double U-Turn)

A new episode of The Amazing Race aired tonight on CBS. Below is a live recap of the leg that sent teams to Prague, Czechia, where a Double U-Turn loomed and strategic choices reshaped the field.

After celebrating their engagement, Lucas & Brittany learned they had to fly to Prague and immediately faced the threat of a Double U-Turn. Despite their excitement, they worried about becoming a target after winning the previous leg. Kristi & Jen echoed the concern: with fewer teams left and a Double U-Turn in play, there was no room for error.

Teams split across two flights. The first flight included Lucas & Brittany, Henry & Evan, Kristi & Jen, and Eric & Daniel. Cody & Jessica, Trevor & Chris, and Alex & Conor arrived on the second flight, anxious that arriving later could put them at a strategic disadvantage. Henry predicted whoever from the second flight reached the U-Turn board first would almost certainly use it.

Once in Prague, the teams found the U-Turn board but none chose to use it. Instead they were given a blind Detour option labeled only “This” or “That,” forcing teams to pick without knowing the tasks. That randomness sent teams in different directions.

The “This” Detour was at Staropramen Brewery: teams had to restack empty kegs, locate a full keg, pour a perfect beer with the correct foam, and then deliver the full keg to a party boat captain. The “That” Detour took place at a nearby university, where teams had to listen to a lecture about Copernicus and pass an oral exam based on the lecture.

Kristi & Jen and Henry & Evan tackled the brewery challenge while Lucas & Brittany and Eric & Daniel chose the university Detour. Lucas & Brittany abandoned the lecture midway, but Eric & Daniel persevered and made steady progress. At the brewery, Kristi & Jen initially struggled to pour the required foam but succeeded on their next try as the second-flight teams began arriving in Prague.

Alex & Conor declined to U-Turn anyone, but Cody & Jessica made a tactical move and U-Turned Trevor & Chris, forcing that pair to complete both Detour tasks. Alex & Conor started the brewery work while Eric & Daniel completed the university exam. Cody & Jessica accidentally walked into the wrong lecture hall and, disoriented, switched to the brewery Detour.

Trevor & Chris began the lecture portion of the Detour and answered several questions correctly but ultimately failed the oral exam, meaning they still needed to finish the brewery task. Kristi & Jen, after getting temporarily lost, found the party boat captain, delivered their keg, and proceeded to the spa for their next clue—a lead that would move them closer to the Pit Stop. Lucas & Brittany, meanwhile, bickered and struggled to navigate the streets while delivering their keg.

The next Route Info task required one team member to answer a row of ringing phones, identify eight that contained a recorded message, and then unscramble words from those messages to form a quote. Jen tackled the phones for her team. Eric & Daniel and Henry & Evan both arrived at the phone task and worked through the puzzle; Evan eventually paired up with Daniel to finish the scramble successfully.

Kristi & Jen completed the phone task and were first to reach the Pit Stop at Letenské Park, earning a trip to Australia for their victory on the leg. They have now finished in the top three on every leg so far and remain a strong, consistent team.

Eric & Daniel and Henry & Evan followed to claim second and third place, respectively. Alex & Conor and Lucas & Brittany arrived next, in fourth and fifth. Jessica, Alex, and Brittany worked through the phone puzzle together but briefly clashed when Jessica initially gave incorrect information; she later corrected it and completed the task first among those three. Taxi availability and navigation became a deciding factor late in the leg, and Cody & Jessica struggled to secure reliable transport.

Cody & Jessica eventually arrived at the Pit Stop in sixth place and defended their decision to use the U-Turn as a calculated, strategic move. Trevor & Chris, who had been U-Turned and forced to complete both Detours, arrived last. Host Phil Keoghan eliminated them from the race; though disappointed, Chris said he would rather be out because of a U-Turn than because of a critical mistake by the team.
