The Voice Season 4: Mac’s Top 8 Power Rankings

The field is narrowing, and tonight eight singers will perform again as elimination night approaches. Several rankings have shifted since last week: my previous #10 and #7 have already left the competition. With momentum changing quickly, here’s my updated ranking of The Voice contestants heading into another crucial live show.

#8 – Holly Tucker (Last Week #9)
Holly has shown promise, but her support hasn’t matched some of the stronger frontrunners. As one of Team Blake’s members, she benefits from a recognizable coach, yet the votes seem to be consolidating around other contestants. With duos and male performers beginning to stand out, Holly risks falling off the voting radar. I expect at least one female contestant to be eliminated this week, and Holly appears vulnerable unless she delivers a standout performance that rallies new supporters.

#7 – Sarah Simmons (Last Week #5)
Sarah’s situation mirrors Holly’s in several ways. Although Adam saved her earlier in the season and she built some momentum afterward, the competition among the female singers is intense. Team Adam could slip from a 3-2 advantage, and Sarah may be the one to go if she can’t maintain or expand her fanbase. Her fate could also hinge on how Amber performs this week—if Amber slips again, it might shift votes away from Sarah, but if Amber recovers, Sarah could be in a tighter spot.

#6 – Sasha Allen (Last Week #6)
Sasha’s last performance drew mixed reactions: some fans praised it as phenomenal, while others were disappointed. That split response can be risky at this stage. On the plus side, Sasha is the lone remaining contestant from Team Shakira, which simplifies the voting dynamics for Shakira’s supporters—there’s no teammate to divide votes with. Still, the key question is whether Sasha has a strong, mobilized fanbase. If not, inconsistent impressions could put her in danger.

#5 – The Swon Brothers (Last Week #4)
As the only duo left and now the last male act standing, The Swon Brothers have developed a dedicated following. Their recent performances were solid, even if they didn’t generate the same buzz they did earlier in the season. They are likely safe this week, but making the finale will require recapturing that standout impact—people should leave the show convinced they were the best act of the night. Consistent, memorable performances will be crucial for their long-term momentum.

#4 – Amber Carrington (Last Week #4)
Amber advanced last week largely thanks to fan goodwill, which can only carry a contestant so far in a lineup full of talented singers. This competition is tight, and relying on past goodwill is risky. If Amber doesn’t return to top form and choose material that showcases her strengths, she could be eliminated. She needs to avoid repeating off-key or awkward song choices; otherwise, the voting public may move on.

#3 – Michelle Chamuel (Last Week #8)
Michelle made a smart song choice recently that allowed her to demonstrate her artistry and connect with viewers. That kind of strategic selection is exactly what elevates a performer in a show like The Voice. However, if she allows coaches to steer her toward material that overwhelms her voice, she could lose ground. Michelle’s continued success depends on choosing songs that suit her style and highlight her unique strengths rather than trying to out-sing powerhouse vocalists.

#2 – Judith Hill (Last Week #3)
Judith keeps advancing despite modest sales on iTunes, which suggests she benefits from consistent phone and text voting. Her performances tend to follow a familiar pattern each week, and yet she survives, indicating a reliable voting base. While she may not be the frontrunner to win outright, she functions as a benchmark in the competition—someone who remains steady while other contestants either surge or falter.

#1 – Danielle Bradbury (Last Week #2)
Danielle had a standout week and landed in the Top 10 on the charts, including the #1 spot on the country chart. She’s emerging as a dominant presence, reminiscent of Cassadee Pope’s trajectory last season. Danielle’s consistent appeal to country audiences and her ability to translate performances into sales make her a serious contender to win. Unless one of her rivals mounts an unexpectedly strong comeback, Danielle looks positioned to continue leading the competition.

Prediction summary: the competition is tightening and voting blocs are beginning to consolidate around a few clear favorites. Watch for key song choices and whether contestants return to form under pressure—those moments typically decide who advances and who goes home. Tonight’s performances will tell us whether momentum holds or whether the rankings shift again before the finale.
