American Idol 2024 has reached its final sprint. With only a couple of weeks remaining until a new champion is crowned, fans are deciding which finalists will advance and which performances stood out. Below you’ll find an updated recap of Disney Night, the mentors and guest performers, plus polls to cast your vote for favorite contestants and for who might have been unfairly overlooked.
For this elimination round the Top 5 each performed two songs from the Disney catalog. The show filmed on location in Orlando, Florida as part of a Disney Parks spotlight. Country star and former Idol hopeful Kane Brown served as mentor for the contestants. He has a longstanding musical connection with Lauren Alaina—together they recorded the No. 1 hit “What Ifs” and the pair were friends in high school—so his appearance brought a real country perspective to the week.
Judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Luke Bryan provided feedback as the contestants tackled beloved Disney songs, and host Ryan Seacrest announced the results that will determine the Top 3 who advance to the finale. In addition to the judges and mentor appearances, acclaimed actress and singer Jenifer Lewis appeared as a guest performer. Lewis—who many viewers will recognize from television and film roles including Ruby Johnson on Black-ish—has an extensive background in musicals and voice work for family films, including contributions to the Cars franchise and The Princess and the Frog.
Who will leave the competition next?
After the Disney Night performances, only three contestants will move on to the final episode. The remaining week will determine who competes for the title in the series finale. Fans have strong opinions about who deserves the crown, and now is the time to make your voice heard in our polls.
