A new episode of Survivor airs tonight on CBS. Read this live recap for a detailed breakdown of the reward and immunity challenges, the tribal politics that shifted throughout the day, and the pivotal vote at tribal council.
The episode opens with Lavo returning to camp after the last vote. Teeny is reeling from Kishan’s elimination, calling the blindsided move a betrayal that left her humbled and angry. Genevieve defends the decision, arguing Kishan could have been a future threat and that the move improved her position in the game. Rome, meanwhile, is upset to learn Kishan and Teeny were plotting against him — he’s relieved Kishan is gone and believes Teeny is becoming isolated from the tribe.
Jeff Probst announces the reward challenge and teases a new twist: “Survivor Social Hour.” Castaways will be randomly split into two teams; the winning side will enjoy a barbecue of hot dogs and a game of cornhole. The obstacle course requires competitors to crawl under barriers to untie bags, retrieve three keys to unlock a ladder, climb the ladder to collect bags of balls, and finally toss balls into five baskets. The first team to sink five shots wins the reward.
Castaways draw rocks to form teams:
Blue Team – Anika, Sol, Rome, Gabe, Andy, Sierra, and Genevieve
Yellow Team – Sue, Kyle, Teeny, Sam, Rachel, Tiyana, and Caroline
The challenge is competitive from the start. Blue builds an early lead, but Yellow pulls ahead while retrieving the ladder and maintains momentum through the ball toss. In a tense finish, Yellow completes all five baskets first. Yellow wins reward!
On reward, Teeny fills her teammates in on the previous tribal council and the Kishan blindside. Conversations turn strategic: Sue tells Sam she’s heard that he and Sierra are leading Gata, while Tiyana names Gabe as someone hunting for idols. Sue is frustrated that Tiyana is sharing sensitive information. Later, Caroline confides in Rachel and Teeny that she trusts Sue above others on the tribe.
Back at Lavo, Rome admits the loss of reward is one of his worst days in the game — he wanted to be on that winning side. He pushes to target Teeny, revealing her amulet advantage to Sol and claiming Genevieve prefers Sol over Teeny. Rome then attempts to convince Genevieve to work with Sol instead, but Genevieve privately says she still prefers Teeny as an ally and notes Rome’s value is slipping.
After hearing Rome’s comments, Sol brings the information to Genevieve, who is annoyed Rome repeated that she didn’t want to work with him. The situation sours Rome’s standing in the tribe, with Genevieve expressing concern about his unpredictability.
At Gata camp, Sam and Rachel return from reward and Sam updates Sierra about the duo allegations circulating in the tribe. Sierra says the news makes her reconsider loyalties. Teeny, back at Lavo, pretends she didn’t divulge any Lavo information at the reward. When Rome walks away, Genevieve and Sol both tell Teeny that Rome is too chaotic, which Teeny welcomes, seeing them align against him.
Meanwhile at Tuku, Sue is upset that Tiyana has put Gabe on the radar. Sue considers Gabe her top ally and later, she and Caroline confront Gabe with Tiyana’s comments. Caroline urges Tiyana to apologize and repair the relationship. Tiyana insists she only told two people that Gabe had used an idol. Gabe confirms Sue’s version of events and admits in confessional he’s furious with Tiyana and contemplates how to respond.
Next is the immunity challenge. Gata brings the chickens they won previously and negotiates with Jeff to trade them for 18 eggs to use in the challenge. The course requires teams to drag coconut nets, gather sandbags and coconuts, launch sandbags to knock down blocks, and then reconstruct the blocks into a puzzle.
Tuku jumps out to an early lead while Gata falls behind, but Tuku maintains its advantage and wins immunity. Tuku wins immunity! Lavo comes in close but fails to topple its remaining blocks. Gata mounts a comeback thanks to Lavo’s struggle, and in a frantic finish Lavo edges out Gata by completing their puzzle seconds earlier. Lavo wins immunity! Gata will go to tribal council tonight.
At Gata camp, Anika is shaken after discovering she lost a vote and expects the tribe might target Andy. Sam, however, pushes to vote Anika out. Andy plays up being a free agent to Rachel and Anika to hide his true alignment with Sierra and Sam. Rachel and Anika invent a fake plan to target Sam in order to placate Andy — a move Andy anticipated and claims he forced them into. Sierra and Sam are not aligned: Sierra wants Andy gone, while Sam prefers voting out Anika. Sam also has a hidden immunity idol that is only valid for tonight, which factors into his decision-making.
At tribal council, Jeff asks about the Survivor Social Hour developments. Rachel shares that Gabe played an idol and that Teeny was blindsided by Kishan’s vote. Sam says they deliberately withheld some Gata information. Andy acknowledges his perceived underdog status but argues he’s made progress toward becoming part of a cohesive group. Sierra wants to feel confident in her alliances while keeping a controllable target in the game. Anika stresses that each vote shifts the possible trajectories of the season. With speeches concluded, it’s time to vote.
Sam chooses not to play his idol before the votes are read.
The votes are read aloud:
Anika
Andy
Anika
Anika
Anika is the fifth person voted out of Survivor 47. She and Rachel are visibly stunned by the outcome. Anika, nearly speechless, asks whether Rachel knew about the blindside — Rachel says she did not. Anika asks who orchestrated the move and Sam raises his hand while Andy later claims the decision was made collectively by him, Sam, and Sierra. Anika’s torch is snuffed and she departs tribal council in tears.
That wraps tonight’s episode of Survivor. Thanks for reading this live recap — check back next week for another detailed breakdown of the strategy, alliances, and surprises from the game.
