Dancing with the Stars 2025: Season 34 — One-Hit Wonders Night (Week 2) Dance Styles and Song Selections
Dancing with the Stars returns with a nostalgic and high-energy theme for Week 2: One-Hit Wonders Night. All 14 celebrity-pro pairs will take the ballroom floor to iconic singles that helped define eras, showcasing a range of ballroom and Latin styles that highlight both the music’s signature hooks and the competitors’ growth since premiere night.
The episode airs Tuesday, September 23 (8:00–10:00 p.m. ET/PT, 7:00–9:00 p.m. CT) and will be simulcast live across ABC and Disney+ in local time zones, with episodes available the following day on streaming platforms. Producers have programmed a throwback opening production number to “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)” by C+C Music Factory featuring Freedom Williams — a high-energy routine choreographed by Emma Slater that sets the tone for a night of crowd-pleasing tunes and bold choreography.
One-Hit Wonders Night features a curated lineup of ballroom styles including the Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Jive, Quickstep, Samba and Tango. In addition to the couples’ competitive routines, the troupe will perform ensemble numbers to party favorites such as “I Like To Move It” by Reel 2 Real featuring The Mad Stuntman and “Lady (Hear Me Tonight)” by Modjo, adding variety and continuity to the broadcast.
How to vote
Fans can cast votes during the live simulcast in the Eastern and Central time zones. During that voting window, viewers across the United States (including territories) and Canada can vote online via the show’s official voting portal. U.S. fans on participating wireless carriers may also submit votes by SMS/text; Canadian viewers are not eligible to vote by SMS. Live viewer votes from Weeks 1 and 2 will be combined with the judges’ scores from both weeks to determine which couples face potential elimination, including possible double elimination scenarios. Make sure to follow on-air instructions the night of the broadcast for exact voting windows and limits per device.

Expect each routine to balance musicality with ballroom technique: Quicksteps will emphasize light footwork and brisk timing, Jives will blast out energetic kicks and syncopated rhythm, Sambas will lean into hip action and carnival flair, while Tangos will deliver dramatic lines and staccato accents. Judges typically evaluate performance on technique, timing, musical interpretation and presentation, so competitors will aim to translate these one-hit classics into dances that feel both authentic and competitive.
